Sweetie, I'm going to move this to Crazy. Not that it's a Crazy topic, but usually random thoughts go there.

My random thought for the day:

The best way to piss off another driver on the road is to go the speed limit. 'Least in California anyway.

Hmmm... probably sticky this later depending on the popularity, but I know we all stumble across .gif's and .jpg's that we just find too odd, hilarious, or mind-numbingly astounding that we have to forward them to everyone.

Well here's a place to post them. Now don't just post your pictures, I'd also like you to give a little explanation as where you found them.

Now to get the ball rolling...

Behold! The birth of Frodo!
Found this in my friend's LiveJournal that later came up on VH1's Best Week Ever blog. Figured I'd share before the rising tide of the internet gets it to everyone before those nearest the pulse get to see it.

These I found off a site that was dedicated to finding similarities between video game character and "real people":

I don't think it's dating so much as having sexual intercourse and so on and if your boyfriend reaches 18 while you're still together, I think it's legal since you two were together beforehand.

For almost 5 years, I dated a guy that was 4 years older than me and we got together when I was 13. We never actually had sex, though foreplay was involved... better yet, he had never unzipped his pants or let me touch him even on the outside of his pants. He ultimately refused to do any of that because eventhough he trusted me, he was afraid that I could go to the police and say that I was raped (concentual or not).

According to him, it happened to one of his friends that was dating an underage girl that said she loved him and at the time that this guy and I were dating his friend was then serving time in prison.

Either way, because of this fear, he and I never had sex. Probably for the best anyway.

I don't care what people do these days and if you're dating years below you or above you, hell when I was 18, I dated a guy that was nearing 30 within the next month. The only thing I suppose would be objectionable would be if one was stupid about it and got taken advantage of.

Otherwise, what else is there? Shame on him for robbing the cradle? 15 to 17 is not that big a leap and when you're both older, it's not going to even seemingly make a difference. I guess it only does when you've a teenager, then there's that whole, "I dated a senior when I was a freshman!" buzz that everyone in high school has at some point.

A few of my friends already got it raw last week, but I'm not really interested.

I'm waiting for the fansubs to come out. Those'll have better cuts of the movie as well as better translations.

'Stop The Bop' To Raise Katrina $$

Schools across the country are pitching in to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

While there are lemonade stands and bake sales from Connecticut to California, some schools are finding more creative vehicles.

Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown, Pa., has a fun fundraising program called "Stop the Bop."

Suggested by a few members of the student council, the school is playing Hanson's 1996 hit "MMMBop" through the loudspeakers before classes begin, between periods and during lunch. The idea? Annoy students into donating; have them pay to stop the music.

The goal is $3,000, which could be reached if each of the 659 students donates $5.

"MMMBop" has been playing since Wednesday, and the school has raised about $2,300 so far.

Student Council President Meredith Cox and Vice President Maria Landi, both of whom are seniors, came up with the idea.

With the song playing in the background, Landi told The Early Show co-anchor Hannah Storm, "It's pretty annoying. I'm getting kind of sick of it. But we're doing it for a good cause."

The school's principal, Dr. Maureen Thiec, says that when the students approached her with the idea, "I thought, 'Oh, my goodness, the teachers are going to kill me.' But we're making it!"

She says that some of those teachers "have given very generously."

"Kids have said, 'If I give you a blank check, will you stop this music?' " Cox says. "People are just, like, some people give twenties. You say, 'Thank you very much.' They say, 'No, we just want it to end. Even though it's for a good cause, we just want it to end.' It's rather funny."

Thiec says the school's receptionist is in charge of the music. "She'll be ever so grateful if she doesn't have to do it anymore," Thiec says.

"We wanted a new, creative way to make money, not just put buckets in classrooms and say, 'Please give us donations,' " Cox says. "So, this is just a different way of getting money out of people. … It has worked thus far: a school of 600 being able to get $2,300 so far. It's working."

Was there a dress code enforced, given the stature of the Hollywood Bowl, or were patrons allowed to dress up as they usually do for the regular shows?

They wanted people to dress relatively nice, but people were showing up dressed as characters and guys were showing up in drag.

This guy showed up at the merch table before the show wearing a a skimpy dress, a pink feather boa and lipstick poorly applied on his face that had a scruffy, five o'clock shadow and he had a nice round gut, and had to be in his late 40s... and his mother was with him.

Man, they had binoculars rental there. I went to the middle of the theater to watch for a bit and do the Time Warp and watch Frank-n-Furter's entrance song and you could barely see what people were doing on the stage.

I guess that's why it's more of a symphony amphitheater, more for listening than watching.

Yeah, blogging's not new. Not by a long shot.

I semi-blog in LiveJournal, link's at the bottom of this post (yes, right under the kitty with the butterfly). I read other people's blogs, though I haven't been keeping up in a while.

I'm just not willing to pay to post a journalism student's trivial life tid-bits and whatnot.

Blogging (the short way of saying "web log") is pretty much any type of online journaling or posting of stories, opinions, what happened in your day, all that shit.

Maddox posted his own take of it here.

Ironic thing about Maddox's rather lame site, though, is the fact that it would be considered a blog... *shrugs* In his own catch phrase, he needs in his own words "eat shit."

Got this from a friend and figured I'd share. Yeah, I suppose it better belongs in Crazy, but I figure this is up for General until the issues fixed by the proper authorities.

1.) go to www.google.com
2.) type in "failure" without the quotes
3.) press the "I'm feeling lucky" button (instead of the google search one)
4.) Laugh

I much prefer widescreen. The directors and such filmmakers created the movies in widescreen with the intent to utilize more of the shot. It has a more dramatic effect and more of what you miss with full screen is picked up.

Full screen is just inferior if you want to see what the filmmaker intended.

What's more even with full screen there are times when it switches to widescreen for complicated, theatrical scenes and so on anyway. Even the VHS and DVD editors don't want to screw with the huge dance numbers or stunts one might miss.

This has been going around the internet for a while now... also saying that it's footage from Hurricane Katrina. No such luck, but no less snickering material.

This next one is also fake, but has been going around the net too, with this description:

You know those speed trap cameras police often use to catch speeders? Well, apparently one of them in New Orleans was still functioning during Hurricane Katrina and caught this infraction . . . Notice the speed caught in the black square!

Another fake one, but what the hell...
