I'm still trying to rationalize how this all happened. So she claims she blacked out, woke up and found a backwards "B" on her face, somehow traced that to mean Barack Obama, then told her friends this story after they asked her what happened?

Someone in one of the comments on one of the articles I'd read for them mentioned, she probably carved the B with a safety pin while looking in the mirror and then realized she wrote it backwards.

Well, counseling is for the best.

I mean, it's like pit bulls. Most people keep them because they're so kind and sweet and often they're remarked as being like pussycats. Then one day they snap and bite someone or attack something or a person, often a child. Then the "pussycat" needs to be put to sleep.

Your husband might have just had something in him that snapped that he didn't realize he had a predisposition for. Genetics are strange like that. Not to say your husband is strange or anything, it just might have been there in his programming and it had never come out before.

And like you, maybe he just felt he was defending himself and it was an instinctual thing.

All the same, I wish you guys the best, and I hope you're okay.

Actually a VAST majority of the Prop 8 support is coming from the Church of Latter Day Saints. Mormons are making up most of the attendance at the pro-Prop 8/gay marriage ban rallies.

A friend posted this on her LJ:
A "No" vote on Proposition 8 will annul no marriages.
A "Yes" vote on Proposition 8 will put over 10,000 marriages in legal limbo.
Which vote is really protecting marriage?

I just feel it's completely wrong to amend the state's Constitution to TAKE AWAY a right. If they're going to start this they can start taking away the rights of others for varying things.

It's not about gay marriage any more. It's about equality and choosing to take the right of those away whose lifestyle you don't agree with.

What if the State suddenly decides that marriage between immigrants and citizens is bad? That takes my parents out. Though my mom was a citizen when she and my dad got married, she's not from this country. They could use this sort of thing to make it so illegals don't try to avoid deportation by paying someone to marry them, or just finding a willing party for it.

Still... taking away rights to satisfy a silly notion. If this passes, you'll be sorry.

Good god no. When I was in third grade I seriously almost threw up on multiple occasions watching this guy, who sat next to me, pick his nose and then lick his finger.

Without looking these up.

You Should Be Allowed to Vote

You got 15/15 questions correct.

Generally speaking, you're very well informed.

If you vote this election, you'll know exactly who (and what) you'll be voting for.

You're likely to have strong opinions, and you have the facts to back them up.

It's more a matter of knowing world issues than those that pertain directly to the U.S. Since we deal with France often as they're an ally and subject to ridicule from our citizens, it would probably be ideal for Americans to at least know whom their leader is.

Then again, it's just a silly Internet quiz and not an official thing that can take away your vote if you fail it. Nothing can do that.

Post pictures, Shuyin! I loves me some super model Shiba Inus.

Seems like every time I look at the feed they're all sleeping. They're really funny too with how they'll twitch and then crawl over each other while still sleeping.

Sometimes you get the one puppy who has this sleepy-like, "Screw you guys, I'm goin' over here" and stumbles over to an empty corner and curls up by himself.

Well, it's always changing, but the most constant would probably be my boyfriend, Brandon. I guess we just entertain each other coming up with crazy ideas of things to see and do and going through with it.

Posted on 10-28-08 08:55 PM, in Giving Dating Advice for those in Need Link
To be honest, those first three questions are really awkward.

Might as well go on a date with a girl and ask, "How much do you weigh (or rather how much does your mom weigh. Best idea of what you're going to look like in 25 years would be to look at her afterall)? How many people have you slept with? Oh and are you willing to pay for your meal or do you expect me to shell out for you every time?"

While your questions definitely are good to know if you're trying to have a nice, comfortable relationship with someone sometimes it's best not to immediately ask about occupation, especially not in a "Are you self-employed or in the military?" kinda way. Does that feel natural to ask?

Even "What do you do?" can sometimes be offensive as some men take it as a woman fishing for what she thinks are important: money or status. And sometimes it gets answered snidely with, "I'm not what I do."

Were you married? Well, unless you've been dating a while this really doesn't need to be asked. What's more talking about marriage in any sense outside of a serious relationship spooks most men away. Chances are after a date or two, if they have been married before, they'll bring it up in conversation.

Lastly, (regarding the how you left your last job relationship) it's not a job interview unless you consider yourself a high-maintenance chore rather than a person who just wants to have fun and string some great moments together with someone special.

Now again, those are great things to know, but then again so's if a person has STDs, are in debt, have anger issues, have been in jail, went to school, do drugs, drink, or has ambitions of dropping everything and sailing around the world one day.

I offer up these:

"Tell me about yourself. What do you for fun?" (He answers.) "Oh, tell me about that."

- Opens up the conversation with something he likes to talk about and if you show interest he's more likely to expand on himself and be more receptive to your questions.

Analyze away, if you like, at how he spends his time and money.

If you want to ask him about his job, mention what you do first or wait for him to bring it up. As I mentioned, bringing it up hints that you're interested in money or at least rating him based on his job. A man who collects garbage is probably not going to want to admit it if a woman is demanding to know honest work he does to pay the bills.

And after more talk and when things are much more comfortable:
"So, you got any siblings?"

- You're looking to hear if he's got a sister or two, and what's more you want to hear what things are like between him and her. Sisters and mothers are what mold a man's ideas of women and how he treats and respects them.

I had a slightly abusive boyfriend some years back who admitted to me that he secretly wanted to kill his mother because of how she'd treated him. I felt sorry for him and in a stupid sense thought I could fix him, but it's naive to think you can change a person, especially if you don't feel that attached to them to begin with.

Like what sort of holes?

One of my few complaints about the episode, aside from the inevitable reunion of Peter and Claire is the fact that Meredith shows up on the scene with her hand on fire. Does that have to be illustrated ALL the time now?

I'm still rather annoyed that she was written back into the story.

Spoiler:
If only Sandra emptied that clip into her instead.

Or better yet she shot Claire in the head multiple times.

On the fun side, Milo did a signing (for his new comic book, Rest) at Golden Apple comics in L.A.

One of his friends pretty much just puts up videos of him on YouTube being silly, and apparently he pretended to get in line for his signing to joke with people:

Hahahaha!! First an impotent banana that got chased down the street by gorillas, and now Captain muthafuckin' Planet. Brilliant!!

Aside from the zombie walk I did two years ago, I haven't had any really good costumes lately.

Last year, for a Halloween party his band played, I dressed Brandon up like Wolverine and threw together a claw for him:

...Orson Wells did the notorious "War of the Worlds" broadcast.

Much like our recent panic over the LHC possibly causing a blackhole that would voraciously suck Earth into its depths, the broadcast caused wide-spread panic--with people believing the planet had been invaded by Martians.

Listen to the broadcast in its entirety here: http://www.radioheardhere.com/waroftheworlds/

I got about halfway through it before I had to leave for school. If I hadn't heard the beginning part that introduced them as a theatrical group at the beginning, I'd have probably been creeped out too at the time.

The only tell is how quickly things occur. They'll interview someone, 2 minutes later they're dead, another 2 or 3 minutes later there are reports from the hospital. Even our ambulances aren't that fast these days.

I remember hearing about that in high school. How one guy even killed himself because he was so scared. Epic FAIL for him. Epic success for Mr. Wells.

A girl in India actually killed herself thinking turning on the LHC really would mean the end of the world.

Let's see what people do for 2012, specifically Dec. 21.

I'm surprisingly very sad about this. Seriously King of the Hill was evolving into a great family comedy.

Not to knock the other shows, but Simpsons and Family Guy can duke it out all they want over who's top banana. King of the Hill was usually pretty consistent with its quiet success.

It's a real shame.

It's hard to explain why this strikes me as tragic.

Yeah, I dislike Lucky too, but he does have his positives. He balances out Luann with a certain sensibility (odd as that sounds regarding a character designed to be "white trash"). That and he's voiced by Tom Petty.

Whoever's been writing Dale lately has had some mental gems:

Regarding Bill's being considered AWOL for neglecting his army duties and spending all of his time and money on a terrible, all-male chorus: "This is the feces that gets produced when shame eats too much stupidity!"

"I blame the media blamers!"

Anyway... I'm really going to miss it. It was one of the few shows where people to a certain degree "grew up," even just in thinking.

It's a pretty even split to me actually.

Good grief, the Catwoman game.

But I can't really think of a GREAT movie that's based on a game, tbh.

Street Fighter? Terrible.

Mortal Kombat? Where's the story again?

Silent Hill? Meh.

The collective works of Uwe Boll? Yikes.

Well Tomb Raider wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either.

Still can't believe they're making a Pac-Man movie, though.

It's weird. Before I was 21 I could drink ANYTHING at mass amounts and be fine. Then when I turned 21 my constitution went out the window. Now my stomach hurts after a while. I don't feel like throwing up, just my stomach aches like I'm drinking without having anything in it.

Anyway, when I was a huge drinker, my usual drink of choice was a Jager bomb. Glass of Red Bull with a shot of Jager dropped in. Makes the Jagermeister hit you harder.

I haven't had one of those lately, but it seems I've mostly been drinking beer (getting giant schooners of it here and there or hitting the Oktoberfests last month).

Being a kid when you're drunk is fine. I notice when I get a bit tipsy I'm happy and uninhibited. Several times I've had some amazing conversations with people while I was hitting the rum pretty hard.

Variety reports: Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander fired from "Heroes"

'Heroes' duo get the ax
Alexander, Loeb fired in shakeup
By CYNTHIA LITTLETON

Big shakeup on the staff of NBC's "Heroes" came down on Sunday with the axing of co-exec producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb.

Both scribe-producers had been with the show since its first season and were known to have led the day-to-day production operation under the direction of creator/exec producer Tim Kring.

"Heroes," produced by Universal Media Studios, has struggled in the ratings its third season. It's understood that Alexander and Loeb were let go because of Peacock execs' frustration with the creative direction of the show. The show is also said to have been grappling with hefty budget overruns this season, that are going well beyond its already sizable $4 million per-seg pricetag.

Reps for NBC and UMS declined comment.
