The sad fact is that I purposely collect terrible movies.
Anyway, in my collection, the worst I have is probably Cocaine Fiends (also called "The Pace That Kills"). It's a 1930s exploitation/grindhouse film about the horrors of cocaine abuse that more expresses the terrors of bad film editing. It's so rigidly edited that scenes just spill into the next, lines are cut mid-sentence, and developments are made in the story that aren't shown for the audience until long after they've happened, thus you're overly confused about everything that's happened up until that point. Not to mention it has terrible acting, direction, writing, and is the remake of a film made not long before it. I'll have to come back with more out of my collection when I have the time. |

Time was I used to be able to put my palms on the ground with legs straight, but since I haven't done any traditional exercise in quite some time outside of getting out and just walking around or occasionally riding a bike, my hamstrings aren't used to the strain any more of reaching for my toes without bending my knees.
So in short, unless I get back to a stretching every day, I'm right there with you, NUCKLEAR. |

This past weekend was absolutely exhausting, but fun.
Went to Celebration IV with a friend I've known online for years (but we'd never seen each other in person despite going at the same cons and never running into one another) and her 3-year-old son. We did all sorts of things: - Watched a girl dressed as Slave Leia teach belly dancing. - Saw 10 minutes of the upcoming all Star Wars season premiere of Family Guy with Seth McFarlane there commenting on it and answering questions. - Was there for the Slave Leia meet-up in front of the scale model of Jabba the Hutt. - Connor, my friend's 3-year-old, fought Vader: - Saw this guy dressed up as Boba Fett with a real jet pack hover down the street. - Competed in the Kessel Run (it's like the Amazing race only with Star Wars trivia, puzzles, and such). There were a ton more things we did like run into Anthony Daniels and later went to his panel, saw some fan films, the Lucas archive of props and costumes, saw the R2 builders and Connor chased some of the R2 units around the convention center, and saw the Vader helmet art. Meh, I'm lame. |

I've been having a phantom period for the past month. I just wish it would show up already. And before I get any questions, I am not pregnant.
Have you ever planned something small that turned into a HUGE thing? (Last edited by Rogue on 05-31-07 04:23 AM) |

Sorry non-Southern California posters, but this is another of those announcements to those who live in this area. The announcement is extended to those who find interest in it, though, if you happen to be in the area or want to visit.
The first of the list is Brandon (Zoso)'s band, Voidcrush, is playing a music festival at the Queen Mary on June 16. They'll be opening for bands such as Unwritten Law, Mickey Avalon, and Zebrahead. The entire event will be in support of a charity called Stand Up for Kids. Tickets will be going for $20 if you buy through them. They're going for $20 through TicketMaster, but then they're also tacking on several convenience charges. Buying tickets through Voidcrush would greatly help them out. Thank you, everyone, for all the support thus far as well. Tickets and such on their website: http://www.voidcrush.com The other announcement: For some reason, while Pat (Junkie) and I were out today, it was decided that there would be a gathering June 23 in which we will all contribute some form of lesser drunk beer, try a whole lot of new brew, and have a good time. As he dubbed it, it's the Alcohol-A-Thon. There are rules and so on posted on his website: http://aa.patrickbetts.net/ For the most part anyone can come, but it's recommended (by Pat) that they be 21+ and that they bring their own beer. There are guidelines of what not to bring in the link above. (Last edited by Rogue on 05-31-07 09:23 AM) |

The 4400 came before Heroes in that was a show where 4400 people disappeared (I'm not sure if they were abducted or what) and they were implanted with missions that don't kick in until a certain time. All of them have a quest that they must fulfill and they've been given special abilities for them.
Anyway, I more want that ointment from Futurama where one of the side effects was that you might gain super powers. |

I didn't do it myself, but Pockets lit part of my bangs on fire (I didn't really have bangs, just hair that was more in my face than the rest of it) while we were sitting in the cafeteria. It wasn't any big deal, and was out a second after it was lit.
Have you ever forgotten to lift the lid (not the seat) of the toilet and gone on top of it? |

I didn't get ill, but when Zabuza and I were at an open air concert for Bad Religion, people were walking by us with their faces completely gashed up like it was nothing. There've been other times, but that's the most notable.
Have you ever caught someone trying to screw you over and when you called them on it, they not only didn't deny it, but insisted that you have no choice in the matter but to go along with what they're trying to pull on you? |

Yep. And that's the only place I've played it.
Have you ever just wanted to shave your head because you were tired of how crappy it looked (split ends, etc)? |

Once again I'm sitting here watching King of the Hill. I think it's the episode where hank has to take Bobby to hunt a deer and he didn't get the permits in time, so he never got to "officially" shoot a deer.
Personally, I see the glory of the hunt and all from the days of old, but what's the point of having such a hobby now? I'm sure the right wingers will have an issue with what I just said, but oh well. Hunt if you want, it's just not for me. And yet I love fishing. Odd. |

A gathering of angels appeared above my head. They sang to me this song of hope and this is what they said. They said:
Come sail away! Come sail away! Come sail away with me! Come sail away! Come sail away! Come sail away with me! Come sail away! Come sail away! Come sail away with me! Come sail away! Come sail away! Come sail away with meeeeeeeeeee!! |

I thank you for the comment, Makura.
I noticed several films that are bad, but not the absolute worst of the worst have been listed. So are we going for movies we just didn't like or ones that are just completely unsalvageable? Even something truly bad like the original 1966 Batman movie can be worth the watching for the bit with the exploding shark being fought off with shark repellent Batspray scene. Either way, here's another to throw on the pile from my collection: Sky Pirates Does the poster not resemble that of the Indiana Jones movies? A very similar font and pose? Same time period, even? That's exactly it. It's a really shitty movie that tries to mirror Indy in every way it can while still trying to seem original. The film's score is even a blatant rip-off of the well-known and beloved Indy theme song. If you ever happen to catch it somewhere (I got my copy at a rental store bargain bin for $1), it's worth watching just to point out what else was ripped from everyone's favorite archaeologist's movies. Now, realizing that I'm not picking any current mainstream movies that you might be able to compare of have possibly seen, I'll leave with this statement: Titanic should not have been made. |

Originally posted by Morrolan Funny thing about that. When I saw it in the theater, I saw it with my friend and some of her friends who'd been in the local papers for seeing it 23 times each (yeah, I know. What. The. Fuck?!) So when Leo big scene comes up at the end, I throw my head back and laugh. The whole row of girls that I was with, who all happened to be sobbing their asses off, all turn and curse me out. Twenty-three times and they're still weeping over the ending? Erm? |

It's funny when someone culminates collections of terrible movies like this one (WARNING: There is a line in the video that is definitely not safe for kids/parents/work):

OK, just kidding.
These were those little messages that were played before, and upon returning from, commercial breaks: Still, rumor has it that Joss is bringing it back since there was such a demand for the DVDs. But, I have heard that the UPN/WB drama over Buffy has caused him to not want to work on a regular show ever again. |

While I understand being shaken when someone confronts you claiming to have a weapon and will hurt you if you don't comply, it was just a kiss.
Thankfully he wasn't out for more than valuables and kisses. |
