Well to quote our favorite faire band, "Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody well dead? Let's not have a sniffle, let's have a bloody good cry. And always remember the longer you live, the sooner you bloody well die."

Bumped. Only because it's more convenient putting these in one place and not starting new threads that would just clutter up the forum.

New one. Just filling it out because... yep, you guessed... I suffer from the boredom.

1. Your name: Christine

2. Star sign: Capricorn

3. Place of residence: Cerritos, California

4. What makes you happy?
- Geeking out at comic book/anime/sci-fi/fantasy conventions/masquerades, zombie walks, Renaissance faires, Dr. Demento, drinking holidays, Pastafarianism, Fakespearean players, talking like a pirate, Spike & Mike's Sick and Twisted, musicals choreographed by Bob Fosse, Dia de los Muertos, the Thursday edition of the L.A. Times

5. What are you listening to now/last listened to?
- Right now, I've got my mp3 on random and it's Bulldog Mansion's "Happy Birthday to Me,"
I was last watching this thing: http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1715192

6. Interesting fact about yourself:
- Interesting? What the hell would be interesting? Um... I have never done any illegal drugs and yet I tend to be the person that gets asked if I'm stoned.

7. Tell me something random about yourself:
- I hate wearing shoes.

8. Favourite spot/place to be:
- San Diego Comic-Con

9. Best time of the year:
- Each season has its perks, but I love summer for being con season (though I hate the heat), May/June for being faire season, March for being a mini-con season with Wizard World and Lebowski Fest. I love autumn, though, for having the right balance in warmth and cold.

10. Right or left handed: Right.

11. Favorite food: Mexican, but I love other things like Chinese dim sum.

12. Coffee or tea (what type / flavor): Coffee, peppermint or hazelnut mocha. Also Oaxacan mocha.

13. What was your last dream about: Had a strange one last night that I don't remember much of. Something about my family going camping on this stretch of grass next to this highway in my town.

14. Last radio station listened to?
- Jack 93.1 FM

15. Last cuss word uttered?
- "Fucking."

16. Best decade for music:
- They're all pretty good. '20s-'40s had jazz, swing, and bluegrass, '50s had big band, the beginnings of rock and roll, and the emerging Latin-influence, '60s had folk, psychadelic rock, Mo-Town. '70s had classic rock and disco (which would be the horrible music that would lead to the development of metal, punk, and rap who came in protest of disco). '80s had all kinds of rock, metal, punk, hip-hop, R&B, thrash, the emerging pop kings and queens. '90s had all the past genres mixed together to develop more kinds of music... grunge, alternative, emo, ska, the return of swing, Latin crooners, rythmnic guitars...

In short, any decade that has Dr. Demento is OK by me.

17. Favourite game:
- Video game: God of War
Card game: Munchkin
Other: Trivia games, guessing movie quotes

18. Last cool thing you did:
- Went to Shelby's Cowboy Max's Wild West Whoop-de-Doo. Zoso was Shelby's deputy. Later, hung out with Zabuza.

RECOMMEND
1. a movie: Sky Pirates, because it's such a shitty movie.
2. a book: Hardcore Zen
3. artist/band, song and album: Voidcrush (Shameless boyfriend plug)
4. Somethings else (lj friend, website, tv show, store, whatever)

Honestly, I don't go in for these romantic comedies. There are some out there that do pull at the heartstrings for me, but this doesn't look like it would do it for me.

I think I'd only see this to watch Jack Black try to be a cheesy romantic with Kate Winslet, and even then I'm not sure I'd see it until, by chance, one of my friends' parents happened to buy it and we watch it one night when we can't think of anything else to do.

Also Cameron Diaz tends to be a turn-off for me.

Not to be so harsh on an innocent movie, but it's just not my bag.

I suppose they figure kids are already watching them as is, since most of the episodes are available on the website. Either way, most of the HTF episodes, while very gory in nature, are almost considered tame.

Or it was a slip-up on the ad-placers' part.

Considering I'm of the non-MySpacers, a couple of these didn't apply directly.

It's funny how true #3 is for a lot of people. Hell, often enough people don't talk to each other even if they had all three things. I've heard from friends that MySpace is like having trading cards of your friends (and people you don't know whom you friended so you can have more friends) in that now that you have them, you don't seek them and you falsely feel like they're always there if you want to hang out and yet you never ask.

Posted on 12-11-06 02:29 AM, in Interesting night. Too much Drinking. Link
I've never truly been drunk before, but I have consumed enough to make a normal person hover over the toilet bowl for hours, let alone the next morning.

My first time heavily buzzing was the eve of my 21st birthday. Did a pub crawl when the clock struck midnight. Hit about 7 bars and had about massive amounts of alcohol at each bar (for free, since bartenders love celebrating 21st birthdays). Most of the time when bartenders asked me what I wanted, I just declared, "Surprise me!" and so I often got a ridiculously complicated concoctions with no names. By the end of the night, I was still walking straight, not slurring any words, but the most random things were suddenly very amusing.

Probably the closest to getting drunk I've been was at a friend's party. I had reached a happy buzz early in and wanted to maintain it--by knocking back more and more rum. It got to the point that I had finished most of my bottle of Sailor Jerry's and most of a bottle of Tattoo, with some splashes of Private Reserve here and there.

Despite other girls at the party taking off clothes and flashing each other left and right (this happens A LOT at cast parties), I'd discovered that I am a conversational drunk. While I was killing off glasses of rum, people I don't really speak with that often, sober, were hanging around me wanting to hear stories about this and talk about that. It wasn't like I was divulging dark secrets, just making conversation. Again not slurring words, falling over, or any of it (although my friend owns a Love Sack, which is like a bean bag chair but bigger and filled with softer stuff and doesn't explode when jumped on, and this thing was fun to purposely fall onto while intoxicated).

My silliest drinking stories pretty much come from Oktoberfest celebrations. After a recent one, taking down a couple liter steins of beer and doing the Chicken Dance and simultaneously trying not to spill and getting hugs from Jager girls in little German outfits (as seen here) Zoso and I left to try and make it to School Girl Lingerie Night at Rocky in time. On the way, I'd been going on about needing to find a bathroom and since we were near Zoso's work (Home Depot), he quickly got off the freeway, got there and took me to the bathroom. Along the way, I kept getting excited about everything around me, pressing buttons, pulling things off shelves to look at them.

Once I got into the bathroom, Zoso mentioned he needed to pick a few things up and he'd find me. Apparently while he was shopping it wasn't hard to find me when I was done--he just followed the continuous chime of doorbells and shrieking laughter. While he was paying for his things, he introduced me to his workmates and they all grinned. First time meeting his work friends and I'm three sheets to the wind or at least I appear that way. By the time I'd gotten to Rocky, most of the effects had worn off, but I was still bouncing off the walls. *shrugs*

Well sorry for rambling. I'm sure that was rather annoying.

Wash: "Were I unwed, I would take you in a manly fashion."

Wash: "Because you're pretty."

Personally, I'd say stick to a one or two-syllable name since it makes calling/training/commanding easier...

That's actually very good advice. When I got the cats I have now, they went without names for a week and even the names I gave them, that I was sure about, changed just as quickly.

Fappy was originally called "Kamikaze," because for a little guy he liked to launch off of high places all the time. Then I thought of how weird it would be to try and call him in and what the neighbors might think. Harrison, afterall, used to answer to his name perfectly, and come running from wherever he was when he heard it.

Had the same name changes for Miko. She went without a name for a while. Then I thought about calling her "Nameless" and then even moreso "Nameless Ninja." Thought about how strange that would be to shout in the neighborhood. That dropped just as quickly. She answers to Miko all right, but since my parents call Fappy "Tuxedo," he really doesn't answer to anything.

Although cats and dogs are different (obviously) when it comes to them responding when you say its name, I highly recommend something simple and sticking to it.

But now for my suggestions...

Brown:
Kafe
Hazel

Goddesses:
Sedna (Inuit goddess of the seas)
Nut (pronounced "Newt"--Egyptian goddess of night)
Sol (Norse goddess of the sun)
Gaia

Of course there is that old joke about naming your dog "Sex," because were you to lose them you could go around saying you're looking "Sex." Yeah, it's really lame, but it's one of those jokes people seem to tell and not understand it isn't as amusing as it was in 5th grade.
