Just ordered an EVGA GeForce 9800GT 1GB for $134.99 from Newegg. Just thought I'd let you all know, not that anybody really gives a rat's ass. I just have to wait for it to arrive, then I'll do the routine "fps in Crysis lol" update.

Yeah, my shit 9500GT is going bye bye. It's not a gaming card, more of a multimedia one. For the same price I got that one, I'm getting one of the better cards out there (that is, until I get a better PSU). It's pretty much the best thing I can put in this computer at the moment.

If you base your computer on playing any recent games at all, you can pretty much do everything with it, save for making it into a server. Mine is a Dell so getting a new motherboard and tower would be a necessity if I wanted to really trick it out (Dell likes mobos so they don't fit into other cases).

My computer can run Half-Life 2 on the max settings pretty easily (the requirements are less than staggering for such a pretty game) and I can slide by with Medium/barely High settings on Crysis but I want to be able to basically max out every game with 30-60 frames minimum.

Newegg is an awesome site with reviews by normal people like you and me so you can find what's good and what's bad, hardware-wise. If you're unsure what you need (say for putting in a new processor), you can always find out there or by Googling it.

My actual "hands on" experience with computer hardware goes only as far as putting in more RAM, a few HDDs and a couple vid cards but my knowledge exceeds my personal schema, if not only for Googling for curiosity.

Fuck shift leaders that don't know what the fuck they're talking about when they try to explain something! This annoying bitch was telling us how to pack cookies into their little boxes and how to put them here and there and was wrong on everything. It really depends on what you use it for and what operating system you have on it. Unless you're doing some serious multitasking or rendering, I would leave it at 1.5-3GB for XP and 2-3.5GB for Vista.
