I would never order WonTon soup from them, sorry if it sounds racist but it isn't. After seeing them, I would no longer crave Asian food, I would want a fleshy doughnut.

Ever since I first heard about Schrödinger's cat back in high school, I have always been fascinated by how things work at the particle level. Also because I was first going for computer science but nearly everybody that I knew was complaining about how boring/difficult/other that the computer classes were... also, a few friends all mentioned that I had a mind for physics, so I figured why not?

Wow, so you've got a lot going on at all times, it sounds like!

So about your interviewing... other than me, who was your favourite person to interview? Also, if you had the chance to interview any one person in the world at your nearest convenience, who would you choose?

No worries, I felt as though I was the one holding up the interview...

Ponies? I like the cartoon. I'm a big fan of all types of animation, whether western or eastern or whatever, so when this vibrantly coloured and impeccably voice-acted cartoon started garnering some buzz around the internet, I became curious. And boy, it delivered.

I wouldn't consider myself a Brony, one reason being that the word in itself is a relatively meaningless label, as well as I don't regularly hang out with other Bronies. In fact, I find all of them to be a rather obnoxious lot.

Anyway, the show is excellent. It takes me back to the times when I was a child, when I would get up during the wee hours of the morning to watch Fox Kids. Not only the nostalgia, but it has a few nods towards adults as well (as any good cartoon should), with references to The Big Lebowski, Doctor Who (Doctor Whooves), and others.

Oh, and the music is actually pretty good.

Oh wow, that photo! That was taken when I was about 19 years old and in my first relationship. Those pictures were taken primarily to show off my new clothes that I had bought (that were a bit too small) while I was trying to adopt a new look for myself, mainly because I wanted to try to pull away from the gothic look to something more... conventional? I don't know. It really didn't work for me, as I went back to my previous look, and my dad stole that hat. I liked that hat...

If I were to look into the future then and see myself now, I would probably think that nothing much has changed. However, when I look back at me then, I would definitely say the opposite. Over the years, I have become much less dependent, especially on my significant other. I have also lost my touch when it comes to art and playing the guitar, but I have gained much more in the long run, such as my education, my outlook on life, goals, and so forth. I've also lost approximately 100 pounds since then, so if I wanted to fit into that shirt, I should probably hunt it down!

I was definitely a dreamer back then. Now, I'm a doer. If I want something, I work for it... yet ironically, I actually worked back then, but you get what I mean. Hopefully.

Another thing that I noticed is that I'm much more organized with my clutter. That desk had all manner of junk scattered about, and that poor nightstand looked like hell as well. They're both relatively clean now, not by other peoples' standards, but by mine.

When I look at this picture, I think to myself, "while it doesn't look like I've come very far, I really, truly have."

I know for a fact that I would be in awe of Shirley's hospitable attitude, considering how downright rude and obnoxious we have all seen her in the media!

Now I'm curious, what got you originally interested in your particular line of work? I personally would be too shy to ever do what you do. I mean, you got on Shirley Phelps's good side -- something I have yet to see anybody else do. What do you think sets you apart from other journalists?

Also, you like to travel. Tell us of your adventures and plans of where you would like to travel next.

I actually had my first Voodoo Doughnut about a week ago, a friend visited from Portland and brought a big box of them back. Definitely tasty!

Traveling has always been a dream of mine as well, and the furthest I've ever been away from Oregon is Las Vegas, so there's not a whole lot to brag about there. The sense of wanderlust kills me.

ANYWAY, this interview isn't about me now, is it?

You are an experience con-goer. What was your favourite convention? How about those outfits, what was the best one that you have put together or have seen others wear?

Surprisingly, in the 7 or so years that I've played guitar, I haven't written a single song. Not one. The furthest along that I would ever get with that would be putting a few chords together that sound nice, nod my head in approval, then forget the progression five minutes later. Also, I hate writing lyrics, so that major component has been severely lacking.

I started music back in the third grade when I decided that learning how to play the viola just sounded nifty. I stuck with that until middle school and I still remember how to play it to this day. Not as well, mind you, but I don't sound like a tortured cat, at least.

Intertwining with that came band in the sixth grade, where I learned the euphonium and eventually the trombone, which is what made me drop orchestra (and the viola). I joined the jazz band in middle school and learned the trombone in about a week, playing almost as well as all of the other 'bones.

I played the euphonium in wind ensemble in high school, as well as the trombone in jazz band and marching band, and the sousaphone for the latter in my senior year. Around this time is when I learned a lot about playing the guitar, pretty much through osmosis from a few friends.

A family friend gave me an acoustic guitar of his because I had taken such a liking to it and it's the only one that has really stuck since...

...until some friends commented that I had a good singing voice, which surprised me. Now I'm singing all the time and going to karaoke to conquer my social inhibitions.

Even throughout all of that, I still haven't written a single song. I definitely need to get on that.

I have been to many places in Oregon many times, but that doesn't feel like traveling to me. The furthest away from home I have ever been was Las Vegas, back in middle school during spring break. We were only there for two days, so I can barely even remember it. I've been to Washington a handful of times and Seattle twice. The Space Needle is pretty neat! Other than those, I have been to California many times and the furthest south that I have traveled was to San Diego for about two hours.

Out of all of those, I really enjoy visiting San Francisco and I always make sure to stop by the Metreon. The nerd in me always demands it.

Anyway, my list of places where I want to visit is much more vast. I've wanted to travel to Japan for a long time, as well as Germany. I would say that they are the top of the list.

From there, I want to see Finland and visit some friends in The UK, see the pyramids, eat some curry in India, visit Peru and other places in South America, and eventually get around to exploring a bit more of the United States.

Unfortunately, whenever I have had the money, I haven't had the time and vice-versa.

I wished Evo a happy birthday a while ago, but other than that, we haven't talked much.

With Rain, I actually filled his position at his old job when I worked at the Chinese restaurant and my boss kept calling me Ryan. Kinda funny to me. I see him every once in a while and we shoot the shit.

As for Kaijin... well, let's just say that we had our differences and stopped talking altogether.

Steampunk has fascinated me for a while, those lesser-known cons might be right up my alley!

Now to get a bit silly -- if you could pick any one superpower, what would you choose?

Still on good terms with Drizzt, though he works harder/more hours than anybody that I know, so he usually doesn't hang around much.

Ooooh British television... I adore it. Believe it or not, I don't spell "colour" the way that I do because of it. I actually picked that up from friends abroad. It's sort of a habit that I honestly don't mind. I don't do it with every word, mind you, only my... favourites! :chuckle:

I'm a big Doctor Who fan. I used to watch bits and pieces of it when I was younger, and I believe my first Doctor was Peter Davidson. I never was able to see the episodes in sequence and so I never quite understood why he had so many actors portraying him over the course of time until I jumped aboard the bandwagon watching the new series. I've gotta say, Christopher Eccleston and Jon Pertwee, the latter most notably from The Three Doctors, which I've owned on VHS for many years.

Then there's all of the classic Monty Python movies and television shows. We all know why, so now here's something... completely different.

Blackadder. Most people recognize Mr. Bean as Rowan Atkinson's best persona. I must wholeheartedly disagree, as Blackadder is not only a bit of swashbuckling goodness, it's also incredibly hilarious. Atkinson plays Edmund Blackadder, the Duke of Edinburgh and his descendants, all of which being shrewd and witty (though the descendants weren't nearly as bumbling as his first incarnation). It's definitely worth a watch and is on Netflix for any subscriber's viewing pleasure.

I also remember watching Red Dwarf when I was younger, a comedy sci-fi about a man that was in stasis for three million years. When he wakes up, he is the only living human left in the universe but he isn't alone; his cat was pregnant and her descendants gave evolution a whirl, spawning feline sapiens, and one of his crewmates was brought back by the ship's computer via hologram to help keep his sanity. This show follows their misadventures. I was happy to hear a few months back that the show was picked back up for a 10th series which is premiering this month! I'm pretty excited for it!

Wow, I feel like I'm writing a book now... back to you.

As you've mentioned, you have a particular interest in steampunk. This is a fantastic setting with a great aesthetic to it. Are there any other awesome settings that hold your interest? If you could live in one of these worlds, which one would you choose?

Ooooh, Misfits! I failed to mention it! That's probably my favourite of all of them, especially Nathan! <3

Eagerly awaiting the next series of that one, that's for sure.

As for something that I have overcome, two things come to mind, both similar in nature. They happen to be depression and codependency. While not fully conquered, they neither control nor define me anymore.

Another thing that I noticed... as I watched, an ad came up for "Edge World". Not fucking funny, internet.
