I have agree with Shaddow, who agrees with Elara. The grammar one especially. Yeah. I'm a grammar nerd. But I guess we do all make mistakes. As for many of the other ones, they are mostly done on purpose, so they can't be swept off so lightly as grammer.

I've just read the first chapter. It's got me wondering what exactly the title pertains to. "Massive Global War". I guess it must have something to do with that. Or the fact that people are getting their faces blown off and corpses charred.

Keep it coming Sparda.

Hey, I remember reading an exerpt of this on AR a loooooong time ago. It seems a little different than the version I read. What I remember is that Goblin there was bothering someone, but I forgot who... I just remembered that the name fit well.
I like Pockets the best so far, though all the characters do have their own nice individualities. I guess its the fact that an Irishman with a grenade in his hand = fun

I'll gladlly read more; I mean, there's gotta be more, this is just the prologue.

I saw that strip too! That was hilarious.I think if he has a gun though it'll take away the whole lighter mood of sonic. Even though it can get sort of "heavier" at times, I dont' think a gun will be a good addition. Then again, I'll have to wait and play it to truly see.

Dude!

I just came back and saw this!

I can say you're good at this, Beowulf. You know why I can say that?

Cause I rock at making them myself.

All last summer this was what my project was. I made face sprites for a couple of guys at the FEPlanet message boards. I even had one for myself, but I got a completely new computer since then. If you want help with any requests I'll show you my stuff and if you like it I'd be more than happy to help. I made faces and stuff, so did the other people, and we all had the best RP's I've ever been in. I want to do it again this summer.

Anybody up for it? Wanna help me, somewhere, maybe a free board, or possibly here, with making some Fire Emblem RP's? UGH! We were friggin' masters of that game. Yeah, I'm on a total ego-trip, but it was seriously awesome! I could of course alwasy go back to FEPlanet, but I left because it got crowded with noobs and the staff didn't manage the board well enough. It started going WAAAAY to fast.

That would so make my summer if I could band a few people up and kick off a new RP project. The sprites we make could have a story to go along with the faces; that was the whole fun of it.

I'll post a face here later. If you don't like the idea, tell me, but it was seriously one of the few good times I've had on a message board (other than Acmlm boards that is.)

Yeah... I'm a bit... overexcited about somethign that may not happen.

I suppose you saw my excitement there... yeah... I was a little hyped on about a gallon of jolt cola and... other stuff that night, so, uh... just forget about that past post. That never happened.

Er... all I needed to say was that I'll help with spriting, if you ever need it. Did you get your sprites from FEPlanet.net? They've got a good library if you've yet to hear them.

This is a really short story I had to write for English class in the beginning of the year. A salute goes out ot HoboConductor who helped with the brainstorming process. It's moderatly trippy, but clean enough for school I guess. Brownie points to whoever can name the song the man is singing in the story.

Struck at 12:00, the clock shattered, triggered by the man・s foot who stepped into the room. Blind with sleep, he failed to notice the broken glass of the clock turn to geese and fly through his wall, leaving a downy pillow to rest his head upon. Falling face first, he hit the bed and then the air again. Down, beneath the bed, the floor, phasing through a black, resembling the color below his eyes. He never hit solidity but began walking, with headlight eyes cutting beams of yellow and dust through the sleepy fog. Blinking he found a man crawl from beneath his eyes from his mind and out into the field before him. It danced; he wanted to dance, but alas couldn・t reach the clownish man, his feet running, legs pumping, ground slipping backwards. The clown taunted him. A wished-up bludgeon slipped from his head and went flying towards the skipping shadow. Upon impact the fool stopped, feet leaving the ground and its body turning to a billion needles. Hitting the ground they melted to a black puddle. The man could walk again; shining his eyes on the puddle, cockroaches scattered from the area and climbed the horizon. The horizon, that was once black, became covered in these insects, but the man didn・t care. He kept walking, and realized they simply made a blockade. He opened a buggy door and stepped inside a new room, clean and bugless. With one step the ground turned a dim purple, another it turned red. The shoes, which belonged to the man, smiled and let its laces fly. Guiding him they tapped along the room, creating a full spectrum of floors but with one strong tap the floor shattered and he fell to a lower area. The sphere that was the little neighborhood world he was in turned to a discotheque, with kaleidoscope skies and pastures of prism-like grass. He stepped, :OW!; yelled his shoes, pained by the fall. Mr. Jamal Left and Mrs. Dorothy Right were his two shoes who he loved to death and couldn・t bear to see in pain. He took them by the laces and flung them out as far as he could throw. Taking flight they flew away, waving farewell back to the man, who did the same gesture as he walked barefoot along the glass meadows. His feet did not bleed, because the glass wasn・t sharp, but it crunched as if it were. He tripped over an arrow, intricate and godly, lying in the field. It pointed to a giant number twelve. Although miles from it, the man could see a tower of clockwork, exposed in the front; a cross section of time. He kicked the hand and it began to rotate, counterclockwise. Slowly it moved, gaining just enough momentum for the man to not notice. Running wildly, the man made his way to the clock. As time passed he became more tired, so he went from a sprint to a healthy run. After much more time, his body began to feel heavy; looking up at the psychedelic skies, he sighed and rubbed his eyes. Upon making it to the clock, he bent, hands on his knees. A clump of hair fell from his head. He pulled and much more came off. Without bothering to wonder why this happened, he began to climb the giant clock. He didn・t quite know why he did this either; there was no where else to go, he concluded. The dead cogs shifted below his feet like a treadmill. He got far enough to see the minute hand in the belfry of the tower. The hour hand had been missing, the arrow that had fallen onto the field. He couldn・t see from where he stood, but it had still been spinning on the ground; the minute hand had been too, at an abnormally fast pace. :One minute one, one minute two, one minute up and one minute down,; counted the man, remembering the lyrics from one of his favorite songs. He grasped at his throat: this wasn・t his velvet voice he sang those same words with just hours before. Old and hoarse, it stayed quite inside him; he didn・t want to hear himself. He looked into a piece of the glass that hadn・t shattered off. Older, older, oldest, his legs gave way and turned to dust. The hour hand still turned. With a breeze his ashes floated to the clocks face and were sent flying over the fields as he hit the fan-like minute hand. Reading 12:00 once again, years later, the hand kept spinning, and the skies kept flashing. But despite the speed of time, the man aged no more as he landed on the glassy fields. And taking his final resting spot there, he was once again kicked into the air by his freed shoes who danced all over his grave.

I honestly wanna see the guy from Harvest Moon in there still

Lloyd or Kratos from Tales of Symphonia would be a pretty sweet option. And Majora's Mask Link would rock. He could have the different masks and each time he changes he gets the same sort of moves as he does in the game. But Meta Knight would definetly be my first pick if I had a choice to who would go in there. Then I'd put some of the sweet Fire Emblem characters in, maybe throw in a trainer from Pokemon who came with Pokeballs as his attack.

When I was a little kid, I didn't know who the hell that other guy next to Yoda was. I had to ask so many people because I was like "Vader didn't look like that..." He didn't. Some can say that it would be awkward because Luke had never seen his father in the Hayden form, but then again, he didn't see him how he was in the original either. He was all scarred up and bald. This guy clearly looks different. Though there is something about Hayden being in this new one, I think it will probably end up being the right thing. Younger kids would understand who this is, at least I would if I were a little kid.

School dances at my middle school (and high school) consisted of three things.

1) Dancing fat kids (They're fun to watch. Like a lava lamp.)

2) Hot, sweaty, farty gymnasium filled with kids in uncomfortable clothes (tucked in dress shirts, tapered khakis, oversized dress shoes).

3) Bad music.

This thread is about number three. What songs do they play at your school dances that you either don't like, or just notice they play a lot?

They play that Sandstorm song ALL the time. Even now that I'm in highschool they do it at least once per dance. They stopped playign "I like to move it, move it." finally. Do they play anything like this at anyone elses schools? And is it just mine, or are requests not able to be taken at anyone elses dances?

Awesome, my hours are 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 A.M. starting June 22nd, 2005 to early September 2005. Just kidding. I can work whenever I find a post here. I wish I had an example of my work, I've got about three computers so I'm not sure which has work on it anymore. The one at my father's house has I think one face sprite, but I'll work on something new if someone calls.

STORY

Colette Brunel lives in the Village of Iselia, on the Continent of Sylvarant. It is in Iselia that the Chosen, a religious descendant of a long dormant Goddess known as Martel, is "chosen" of course in order to go on a journey of world regeneration. This journey is imperative to the survival of Sylvarant, as without the awakening of Martel, the land will wither away. In order to save this world, four sacred seals must be broken, and the Chosen's abilities tested in the process. During this journey, the Chosen will begin to take on the form of an angel to ascend into heaven and meet the awakened Martel. Colette finds that she comes from a long line of Chosen, learning her father is an angel himself, or so she believes. As her first task as Chosen, Colette, accompanied by Lloyd Irving and Genis Sage, both childhood friends from Iselia, and the surly Kratos (a wandering mercenary) entered the Temple of Martel, a holy place outside of Iselia, and met the angel Remiel, Colette's assumed father and the man who grant's Colette her angel powers. Remiel comes from what the worldly peopel of Sylvarant call Cruxis, where the angels live and Martel's body sleeps. After recieving her mission statement, the young girl sets out on her journey of World Regeneration, only to find deception, loss, and insurmountable odds against her and her fellow travellers. She finds that when the seals in Sylvarant are broken, another different land known as Tethe'alla becomes weak. Mana (the source of all life in the story of Tales of Symphonia) is the substance that keeps the lands in balance. But why, Colette asks, is this other land here, and nobody has been told of it? Why is she working to save this land if another is in danger? And if Cruxis is all it is meant to be, why do they place the fate of a world in the hands of a clumsy girl and her rag-tag friends? The answers to the questions you may ask all are found in the two discs that make up Tales of Symphonia for the Nintendo Gamecube.

GRAPHICS

Tales of Symphonia has an anime style that can either be counted as artistic, chic, and recognizable, or by some of the players who look only skin deep, as a childish sort of style. Tales sports no blood, or gore, even at the most violent of parts, but still expresses itself through the sheer emotion portrayed in each character. The voice acting is amazing, even comparativly to many other games on the Gamecube. With a hint of anime cutscenes thrown into the mix, Tales has an original style that most should be able to enjoy. The only problem is the lack of detail in many different areas. Sometimes the characters mouths move, sometimes they don't . Whenever any explosion occurs, its just plain poorly done. If you can't see it for yourself, and have Super Smash Brothers Melee, use Mario and use is Fire Ball attack and pause it. You'll notice it looks like a piece of paper. Thats the best analogy for what the game's explosions look like. And, whatever cutscenes you do get to see, they're short - too short to excite some enough. An interesting part of this game is how the characters look the same in battle as they do outside on the world map; costumes are able to be found later on in the game to glorify this fact.

GAMEPLAY

Tales is an RPG, so walking, talking, and all that is a must. Battle in this game is different to the average turn based RPG, a genre I notice that has been dying recently. Tales makes gives the player the option to either watch the battles (Extremely lame, and makes the game not worth your time) OR, the much better choice of controlling you characters in a fighting game-esque style. You actually move the character, press buttons to make them move they're weapons around. Its exciting, and keeps the player on his or her toes. As for travel on the world map, there's nothing wrong with it other than later in the game the world seems much smaller due to the different modes of transport you'll acquire. Battle controls can be VERY confusing if you're not told how to do it before hand. Setting special moves is confusing, thus you may find yourself constantly pressing the A button for the first half of the game.

SOUND

Awesome voice acting by some popular voice actors. The music gets very, very repetitive at times though. There isn't much to it - the sound's nothing special, but nothing bad.

CONCLUSION

An aging game, Tales of Symphonia is sure to be cheaper than it was when it was first released in late 2003. It's worth the buy, but still leaves the player with a feeling of uncompleteness when they finish the game. This calls for a replay or two. Tales has enough secrets and sidequests to keep the player coming back for more.

Story: 6/10 - Plot holes are common in Tales of Symphonia.
Graphics: 8/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Sound: 7/10

Overall game score: 7/10

Oh. Beo, I'm on that same exact mission with Riev now, and it certainly is a bitch, especially in the upper right hand corner where the Heroes and Warriors keep flooding in. Luckily I had an assasin with me, but somehow somebody snuck behind and killed Myrrh. I have to restart...

I dunno, I think Nergal from FE7 takes the cake. That guy brought back all the old enemies, the old bosses from the entire game and through them into one map. Then he was a pussy and died in about two hits, but then let the dragons loose. The dragon that was a bitch to kill. He made Eliwood kill Ninian, and it was pretty messed up when everyone found out about it. Nergal was a power hungry bastard that transcended bastard-hood into something more... eeeeeevil... he ate people's essences, and didn't give a fuck.

Man, I'd love to see the story I'm writing now as a movie. It'd be a much easier way to portray what I see in my head to people without boring them. It would be sort of hard to find people for the roles, so whenver I think of this, I always see it animated, in a style just like the one used in Kill Bill, the chapter that's like "The origin of O-Ren", where its all scrabbly and stuff. But then again, if it were live action than I would definetly need some slight computer animation in some parts.
