| Yeah. I had to nip the "When are you having kids" thing in the bud pretty hard to get that across. Now we just have Ben's uncle trying to "save us" from online gaming addiction and atheism.
My favorite holiday is Halloween, hands down. I've just always liked the idea of spooky things and dressing up in costume to be something I'm not for one night. Then as I got older and worked as a monster I enjoyed scaring the shit out of people. The pagan connection also doesn't hurt. How do you handle making choices that are certainly going to be life altering? |

| Fuck the idiot drivers in Butler today. Seriously, where do you people learn to drive? We almost got hit like three times in the parking lots for Sam's Club and Giant Eagle today.

| Halloween here was ho hum. My Dalish Inquisitor costume was okay, not great. The party was fun, but really uneventful.
My mom told me today that they didn't have a single trick or treater at the house this year, since they were once again the only house on the block that put the porch light on. My mom loves seeing the costumes and even makes sure to have treats for everyone... no nuts, plain m&ms for little kids that can't handle caramel.... She sounded so sad that I actually started to cry a bit. There are several kids on the block, and they don't even go around their own neighborhood... what has happened to my holiday? |

So yeah, good news is it looks like I am good to go on insurance. Still need to actually update my info, though. Next week I am going on a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas with Ben and Kaleb. It is the later's first time flying or being on a cruise ship so I am of course being the best of friends by poking fun at him for freaking out. I have also prepared myself in case he has an anxiety attack so I can help keep him grounded because I actually am a good friend. And, of course, it is officially holiday season in retail... so there are no words to explain just how much I am looking forward to this vacation. |

| So if you didn't get to see it on Friday night, Rachel Maddow of MSNBC did a forum with the Democratic candidates. Each got 40 minutes and I thought it was really interesting. O'Malley did much better in this kind of format to be honest, though I don't think he really delivered any glancing blows.
I kinda wish we could see something similar for the Republican candidates since Rachel was a great host for this type of forum... but with so many candidates on that side, I don't think they would have enough time. Maybe once they get under ten candidates and start taking this seriously? In other news... Ben Carson seems to be living in a fantasy land where the ancient pyramids of Egypt were built by Joseph as grain silos and Carson attended West Point. The lying about going to such a prestigious academy is bad enough, and then thinking it is no big deal that he lied (after trying to say he never said it). But the history thing... oh my gods. Just... just NO! |
