Yeah, there were definitely some cheesy moments like that, but it kind of felt like an old movie from the 80's or 90's or something.

Basically all bands from Germany are godly: Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Helloween, Primal Fear, Blind Guardian, Hammerfall (not as good as some people claim they are, like saying they're the best Power Metal band ever, but they're good), Edguy, etc. Hobo: Judas Priest is so good its not even funny, but I'm sure you already knew that.
You seem to like a lot of stuff I do, even Manowar. But yeah, if you like "newer" Judas Priest (heavier and faster, I'd say starting with Defenders of Faith from 1984), then you should check out Iron Savior and Primal Fear if you haven't. Iron Savior - You can see the JP inspiration in all of their albums. The sound of the songs, style, and everything, seems like a powered up / remix version of some of JP's work. I mean, you won't say they're ripping them off or anything, because Iron Savior's stuff is great, you can just tell JP played a big influence in their style. Same thing with Primal Fear. Ralf Scheepers, former Gamma Ray vocalists, tried to be JP's vocalists when Rob Halford left for awhile (this is somewhat of a reason why Kai thought he should leave GR). But that didn't work out, so Ralf just basically creates his own band that sounds like JP's Painkiller album, but new. On top of that Ralf has an extremely similar voice to Rob. Hopefully some of that made sense, or some of you know what I'm even talking about. (restricted) |
