And Spyware... or anyone that knows that much about cars... is shift shock common for my car? It is a bit stronger than other cars I have been in, though my dad isn't too concerned.

Depends how bad of a shift shock. I have no idea what trans is in your car(some are just always rough). But shock should always be barely noticeable. But yours has to be a "e" version meaning electronic cause its a newer car. then itll have set shift points controlled by the computer, and should always be right.

What "i" would do is drive for bout 20 miles (that warms the trans all the way) then park somewhere preferabble as level as possible, and check the trans fluid.

1: is there enough in it?
2: what color is it? Red/pink or brown/black?
3: if its brown or black smell it, if it smells like ass, its burnt and you most likely will need a rebuild depending on how long the fluid has been like that, all the grit will be worn off the clutch packs and the seals may have harden, thus when new fluid is put in its viscoity is better and leaks past the seal into the clutch packs, and parts of the valve body were it doesnt need to be and causes "slipping" which equals a new trans.

let me know what happens, and well go from there. depending on fluid condition. It may be save able

a little off topic, trans fluid should be changed every 30,000 miles or every year. but what I fear is that the fluid may be the original from the factory. yours should be on its 4th or 5th fluid change.

if you ever wanna talk to me on aim elara my name is still in my profile, im usually on. Im gonna ask the mechanics at my work and see if they know anything bout your trans model.

if you cant figure out how to check the fluid, let me know ill try to take some pictures of under my hood to give you a general idea of were to look for the dipstick and what your fluid shouldnt look like, cause mine is pure black, and i cant change it cause i cant afford a rebuild, but it still works so im not complaining XD

My dad said the fluid was fine... not sure what color it was. But he checked all the oils before we even bought the car. I'll check it out though.

might just be the way the trans is.

but whenever checking a trans fluid make sure the engine IS running. cause if its not you wont get the right fluid going through your trans. itll be un filtered and give you a false reading.
