My new car

It's a 2001 Mazda 626 LX. I've named it Selune just for fun. Looks just like the one in the pic, though I believe the rims are a bit nicer.

I was gonna say "THAT IS AWESOME", but to be truthful, I don't like it. Most Mazdas are okay, but the older ones...

That's great, Elara. I bet you're happy! I would be too, lol.

And DSM? So long as you take care of your car, ie change the oil and other fluids when you're supposed to, the car will live for a long time. and it's only 5 years old. newer than my car. =P

It has about 84,117 miles on it now... it had 84,059 when I bought it... and actually mine is silver, but the picture looked silver to me when I found it.

And today I got it insured and officially paid it off. It was $7500 out the door, my folks put $1000 down and paid the rest off today. Thing is that the loan they had us sign in the meantime to cover their ass was signed by me, so you can imagine how good my credit looks now!

As for DSM's comment, older Mazdas suck... of course "older" right now generally means "made before the year 2000". My mechanic said the same thing, though he says the one I got is good.

Ford owns Mazda now, and ever since the early 90's many mazda 4cyl made their way into probes and some rangers, and some turbo ones make great swap engines in probes

And america cars pwn every other brand they pioneered most of the new tech. Ie Fuel injection, Variable valve timing (thought the japs had their own, the GM version is the basis they use, cause it works!!!! ) the small block engines etc.

But foreign cars are nice to. And germany had the first working cars, but most of the engines and tech was inveted in america first

/rant (and fx that rant wasnt twoards you, Im just a gear head, any chance to talk cars, I jump on it XD)

Thats a Very nice car elara congrats on it. yeah your mechanic is right, some older mazdas blow, mostly the rotary engine ones. but yours is nice, 4 cyl right?

Auto or stick? XD

Automatic, I can't drive stick. Yeah, it's a 4-cyl.

Everyone I know has had bad luck with Fords lately to be honest. My dad has to fix his like every month because the engine keeps having random problems.

Well, that shit happens, its not fords fault. Stuff breaks.

im 100% sure your Mazda has a FORD Zetec 4cyl 2.0L DOHC.

but watch out, those 2.0 have been known to have problems with prematurely turning oil to sludge long before its supposed to. So change the oil a little bit before the 3,000 mile mark.

nope, only engines offered for your Gen were a 2.0 4 cyl or 2.5 V6. unless califorina engines has some changes, due to emission garbage. it might just be a variant of the 2.0 zetec, just changed for california.

It's the 2.0 4 cyl. Your ability to just know what engine it is scares me. I told my dad about the oil thing, so we shall keep an eye on it. I've put about 600 miles on the damn thing already. I just wish that gas prices were lower so I didn't have to fret about it so much.

Well as Gaiman writes in Good Omens, all tapes warp into "The Best of Queen," so why not CDs?

It didn't come with the car, I put it in there.

And Spyware... or anyone that knows that much about cars... is shift shock common for my car? It is a bit stronger than other cars I have been in, though my dad isn't too concerned.

Loved that book, like the car... I STILL haven't gotten a ride in it now that I think
about it. *glares at Elara*

So here's the deal, I'll ride the bike to your house and then you'll drive to a bar so
that I can get fershnickered drunk and I'll pass out on your lawn, sound like a plan?

lol
