I don't know if I'd say love... but it is awesome that they kept their friendship intact... if you can call it that. And yeah... they made Cersei likable... it's weird. And yay, finally Jaime starts the shift towards cool again.

The ending is almost straight out of the book...

Spoiler:
it was just heads on pikes... but basically same gambit.

I figured as much, but you know, it's not as shocking as ending when you already know it's not true.

Spoiler:
I thought they were going to kill Luwin, and THAT would have been more shocking.

Oh and:

Spoiler:
Anyway, I'm kinda bummed because I saw Gina's comment to a quiz on Facebook regarding Robb. I'd rather not mention it to confirm it, because I'd still rather be somewhat surprised, but I'm still bummed just the same.

Yeah, spoilers like that can be a bummer. I must say that they made Robb a much cooler character than he was in the book in my opinion... he was never a POV so it's nice to see him not from Catelyn's eyes.

So nothing really big happened this episode. I mean, yeah, stuff happened, but nothing really ground-shaking. It's sort of a placeholder while everyone gets in position for the season finale stuff.

I squeed in anticipation with a lot of stuff... looks like they left room for the cool stuff with Jon to still happen.

I was hanging out with Marty and Becky last night and we just kept talking GoT while tearing down after a show. They haven't seen the HBO show yet, but they've read all the books that are out. They're trying to behave themselves with spoilers (well, Becky is anyway). Marty's all like, "Oh you like Tyrion and Jaime's relationship now, you say? Well, not when.... blah blah blah blah blah!!!"

Really it was cool to just talk GoT with them since I was trying to distract them from how pissed off they were at the new bassplayer.

Game of Thrones. The great unifier.

I mean, The Simpsons did that opening and South Park had Mr. Garrison teaching Westeros history along with history of the Greeks and Romans.

I can't find a longer video of it, but he keeps going even with the focus of the scene switching to the boys:

EDIT: South Park Studios posted the full episode here: http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s16e07-cartman-finds-love

The whole GoT scene is a minute into it.

What I mean by all this is that these shows are putting all this attention on GoT, but they aren't making fun of it in any way. It's almost like the writers and creators of these satirical shows are respectfully going, "Hey guys, we love your show and just want to incorporate it in our own too."

Oh and new episode tonight! And if the posters are anything to be believed we're seeing the Battle of Blackwater Bay.

I've never done this whole, watch the series before reading the books… But… OMG I need to read the books.

This last episode's ending floored me. I had to look up spoilers or I'd have lost sleep. <_< >_>

Last night's episode was just so fucking good.

I loved it more than House's series finale (though that's not saying much, but that episode was SUPPOSED to be epic).

I'm just glad some of the spoilers I was exposed to have FINALLY come out.

Those spoilers include:
Spoiler:
Tyrion receiving a scar across his face.

The Hound running away.

Plus, all the fan art that I keep seeing of the Hound and Sansa, which I'm not sure if it would ever happen, but I WANT IT TO!! I freaking squeed when he was in her room after she locked herself in.

Stannis' men turning boats upside-down to run at the Mud Gate.

Other comments I have on the episode:
Spoiler:
Wildfire scene was AWESOME.

Tywin strutting in at the end was fucking great.

Laughed SO HARD when Tyrion knocked off this guy's leg.

Pretty much any scene with the Hound was far better than anything Joffrey could amount to. Even Lancel's starting to redeem himself and be far more likeable.

And oh my god, The Hound and Bronn.

And no matter how bad Cersei gets I still prefer scenes with her to scenes with Daenerys. That's just sad. Becky was saying Dany's far better in the books.

Cute. I love that a bunch of the comments are "they better not fuck this scene up" and the artist is like "this never actually happened, so they can't fuck it up"

People really don't read the descriptions on DA and it's exasperating. I know it's a fantasy, but I want it sooooo bad.

Well, not as much as a certain other pair, but I would love to see these two happy together, embracing over Joffrey's charred corpse or something.

As for the song, Brandon and I were struck by it when it started over the credits and sat there listening.

Man, there's so much to tie up in this one last episode.

Spoiler:
I'm so bummed Sansa didn't go with him. It was her chance to escape and now she has to live with her decision.

Well for a season finale that had to tie A LOT up since they took a whole episode to do the Battle of Blackwater Bay (as it should have been), it was pretty good.

I even actually began to like Daenerys again.

Spoiler:
Truth be told, a good chunk of the like and new respect stems from my hatred for her former handmaiden, Doreah. I just couldn't stand that character. And now she's DEAD! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And in one of the worst ways possible, effectively being buried alive! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Question regarding Theon, though.

Spoiler:
I figured the Ironborn were taking him home, but some of the episode descriptions I've been reading are saying they left him behind. I'm confused.

Yeah... the end of Dany's part in this last episode is more of the Dany in the books.

But yeah... just, the entire episode... Squee!!!

The Theon thing...

Spoiler:
They sold him out.

Spoiler:
Yep, no more Duck Sauce.

It was a much more satisfying ending than season 1, which is great. You want the show to keep getting better.

Spoiler:
Wish there could have been more with Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie, but it would have taken time from the other necessary things.

Although I was never really attached to him, I was just so sad when Luwin was speared. At least he got to see Bran and Rickon one last time and Osha gave him a quick death after that. Luwin was just such a good guy, and killing him was so pointless. Then again, they're Ironborn and they can be shitty people who'll just kill because they felt like it.

Ah, Theon. Even though he's such an irrational kid, I can't help but feel sorry for him all the time, and I tend to like him no matter what.

I don't know what to think about Robb's marriage. I'm hearing Talisa wasn't in the books, but Marty was telling me there was some woman he was with in the book (he couldn't remember her name saying he thought it was Jane or something).

Was Harrenhal the castle Baelish had been wanting? When Tyrion was lying to him about Theon marrying Cersei's daughter he made some promise of a castle to him. I think it was Harrenhal.

But to further go over Baelish, I really hope he keeps his promise to Sansa, though I highly doubt he will. Varys was right when he said to Ros that Baelish looks at her as a profitable collection of holes. And chances are that's what he sees Sansa as.

I mean, considering his connections with Lysa Arryn... Little Finger's got a thing for Tully women.

EDIT: io9 has a piece on what they consider to be the best changes from the book: http://io9.com/5915744/10-best-changes-game-of-thrones-made-to-a-clash-of-kings?utm_campaign=socialflow_io9_facebook&utm_source=io9_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow

I read it and then avoided the comments, since those tend to be rife with spoilers.

Figured, since I'm a bit bored I would take the time to list of characters I love, feel indifferent toward, and downright despise based on season 2.

Characters I love:
Arya Stark
Gendry
Tyrion
Sandor Clegane/The Hound
Brienne
Osha
Jaqen H'ghar
Podrick Payne
The direwolves

Characters I like:
Robb Stark
Jon Snow
Bronn
Sansa Stark
Bran Stark
Tywin Lannister
Varys
Shae
Daenerys (welcome back to this end of the spectrum, dragon girl)
Samwell Tarly
Hodor (because who can really hate the big lug?)
Ygritte (I just automatically liked her for some reason)
Yara Greyjoy (she bounced onto the like list in that last episode she did)

Characters I'm neutral about:
Baelish (he bounces on and off my like list. I like him despite himself, really)
Catelyn Stark (I love her relationship with Brienne, but I wasn't liking much else this season)
Theon Greyjoy
Jaime Lannister
Rickon Stark (thankfully we're seeing more of him these days)
Hot Pie
Jorah Mormont
Myrcella and Tommen Baratheon (I think I'd like them if they got featured more)
Loras Tyrell
Ros (she might be on her way up, though)
Lancel Lannister (he might actually be closer to the like list, especially after the Battle of Blackwater Bay)
Roose Bolton
Gilly

Characters I dislike:
Talisa (I'm not entirely sure why I feel that way either)
Stannis Baratheon
Margaery Tyrell
Balon Greyjoy
Grand Maester Pycelle
Dagmer Cleftjaw (kinda liked him for a second there)
Gregor Clegane
Meryn Trant (tool...)
Cersei Baratheon (she's goes back and forth between hate and dislike)

Charaters I hate:
Joffrey Baratheon
Melisandre
Doreah (I realized that I've hated her from the beginning)
Xaro Daxos Duck Sauce
Ser Ilyn Payne
Lysa Arryn (even though she wasn't in this season at all, she still sticks in my craw)
Craster

Spoiler:
Yoren, Luwin, and Roderick would have ended up on the love list.

Not sure if Davos is still alive, but I'd add him to the like list. Qhorin Halfhand and Alton Lannister (despite being a made-up character for the show) would have been on the like list.

Renly would have been on the neutral list.

Amory Lorch would have made the dislike list.

Janos Slynt and Pyat Pree go on the hate list.

So the panel at Comic-Con. It wasn't all that happening since they only had a handful of cast and no season 3 footage (since they're filming it right at this moment), but they put up a video with the new cast members coming in.

Since I haven't read the books yet, I wasn't sure what I was seeing (though Gina was admonishing that a few of these people simply didn't look right. Can't remember which ones to whom she was referring).

Went ahead and made a new post. Here's the panel, plus Q&A.

At the end when George says they have one brief preview it was a 10-second video of the Game of Thrones logo with season 3, followed by a card that said "Coming Soon!"

They also played a 5 minute recap of season two, plus the video that was embedded in the last post. You aren't allowed to record things that they show you on the screen, but HBO put those videos online right as they screened them at the panel.
