This is the final picture your given after Zero kills the final boss of the game. The final battle takes place on a massive sattalite space base called Ragnarok, from which it starts comming down into earth's orbit, in attempts to crush the last of the world's humans. Zero destroyed the Boss infused Core, and blew up Ragnarok, while still on it.

Noone knows what happened to Zero, and with this picture, makes me believe he's really dead. For the last time. >.>

Discuss.

Finally! It has happened. The Death of the almighty nothing!

Just kidding. But this is interesting however ... correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Zero games were telling the story of Zero's past, and how he eventually became the ultimate S Rank Hunter?

I've heard there's more connections to the Zero series with ZX than anything else (which I've played and beaten, and loved it), so I've been really interested to go back and play all the Zero games. They're so hard to find though, I'll probably have to stick to emulation ...

And also did you check GameFAQ's and stuff, since some of the MM games out there have been known to have different endings?

I've checked everything. Also, about the Z series:

Megaman Zero takes place roughly 100 years After Zero puts himself in a sleeping container (see X6 ending). He awakes, but has no memory due to the fact he was dead (again) and was revived by the power of a cyber elf (see ingame info for details)

MMZ is an awsome series. The gameplay gets progressively easier with each release though. Personally, I think he was the most badass in X6, due to the fact they practically mastered his ninjistu look, but then they downgraded him to a fairly human look. Though they improoved the Helmet, IMO.

I've heard talk that Zero isn't dead, and he can't die. Others say he'll be dead, but automatically have a repair system, others think he'll just come back. Most people refuse to believe he's dead, regardless of how many times he acctually HAS kicked the bucket.

The Zero series rocks hardcore. I have yet to play 4, but I have heard of all the debate over whether he's really dead or not. Some say he can't die for he always gets rebuilt by Wily, who always finds him (totally possible, Wily may have been alive due to robotics. I mean, Sigma does hint he's alive in X5. What's stopping him here?).

I do hope he's dead, it makes a good finish. With both him and X gone, it makes for more heroes to step up, also, it makes them go down in history over the struggle they went through. Never again to be seen. Well, until people start wearing armor identical to them.

This is probably one of the biggest reasons why I thought the X storyline fell into many broken pieces after X5 (I didn't even like X5's itself, but maybe that was just because I hated the introduction to the big Maverick Hunter crew, Alia and all them ... ugh).

For awhile I figured Sigma either hinted that it was Protoman, or Wily. But yeah, I really really really and I mean really wanted to see one of them show up sometime in the later X games. It would have been absolutely legendary.

Basically, the rundown of those guys...

Alia - Annoying Navigator which stops you for everything.
Signas - Hi, I'm a ripoff of Colonel.
Douglas - I'm a dork mechanic that looks lame and has almost no point. Where's Dr. Cain when you need him?
Lifesaver - I only appear briefly in this game, and for some reason, I have an unmentioned twin.

Thus, Signas wins. =/

(slightly off the topic of Zero death, but Mega-Discussion nonetheless.

>.> It woulda been a huge hit if they hinted that Protoman was acctually Zero.

I could easily see it happen too o.O. After playing the Power Battles, Capcom hints to a major glitch in Protoman: He has a limited time to live. What if, per say, protoman finally kicked the bucket, Wily found him, and rebuilt him to be Zero >.>

Anyway, concerning X5: That was a horribly slopped together game >.> It was nothing more then a tribute to the music band Guns and Roses. The 3D effects were abuses WAY too much, ruining what I liked about X4, all of Zero's special abilites were annoying to the max (I mean common, a perminent water berrier everytime he dashed in the air?) and the game itself was pathetic, save a few parts of the game, that was just hard as hell.

X6, being the better of the two, IMO, should have ended there. One of the three endings in that game shows Zero gettign into a hybernation capsule to be awaken years later, thus spawning Megamn Zero.

X7 was slopped together and shouldn't have been made, X8 is just an annoying stretch, and introduces TWO MORE NAVIGATORS x.X One of them, Layer, being a quiet purple android with her breasts visible due to a very short cut breatstplate, has a huge crush on Zero. And it also introduces a revamped Alia, where they gave her long hair, and cut a hole in the armor she was wearing so her breasts would hang out >.> It's an overall improvement for Alia, but geeze. I think Capcom might be hinting towards something x.X

Back to Z4... I really don't want Zero dead. They never let us see if Ciel's relationship to Zero grew past a one sided love. (If you didn't notice Ciel falling for Zero, yer pretty blind >.> ) After all, Capcom introduced a Human, Reploid crossover in this game, with Niege, and a Boss (his name illudes me).

But the way the game ended left no chance for Zero to acctually survive. Then again, there was no way for him to of survived a Kamakazi run into the space coloney, but he managed to live through that to get to X6 >.>

I'd actually blow up if they did that. I just wouldn't like it. Zero was Wily's last creation, Protoman was Light's first. It would be too weird.

All in all, I didn't care for the sloppy plot that took off from X4. I like X4 a lot, but I'm sure most can agree a lot of the introduced characters, the plot itself, and everything just didn't seem to have any connection at all to the past X games. X5, X6, and X8 I hardly remember anything about, since I didn't enjoy them as much. X7 I haven't even played and don't plan on it ...

I still think it would have been great to see X and Zero fight to the death, like it was hinted at in X2 and X3 "Its the only way to restore peace". But I guess that would've qualified as too dark for the X series.

But uh, yeah about the Zero series ... I need to play it.

Ah, X6...X6 wasn't hard, it was just annoying. Levels were designed weird, and some stuff, was actually impossible to do without getting a certain something first. Not just talking about secret stuff, but Gates Lab Part 1? To get over that Spike Wall, you need some badass armor, as with many other parts of his lab.

Enemies were placed in ridiculously inconvenient places, too. That game, even though I kinda liked it, was silly and 'cheap'.
