An Explanation-

The stats used to evaulate Sparda's abilites are not based off any specific ranking 'system' per se. Rather, they are simply words that are used to describe each stat. Further explanations are as following..

Low~ Weak. Nothing more than a regular human's standards. A regular knight usually possesses 'low' stat qualities.
Medium~ Still weak but better than 'Low'. More advanced than a regular human. Each ability is upgraded but still not truly 'combat' worthy. The medium between a regular soldier and a true 'elite'.
High~ Strong. Powerful. Much more advanced than that of a regular human. This is the defining trait that seperates a general from a true high elite. Combat worthy against various foes, including supernatural ones.
Extreme~ Extraordinarily strong. Beyond most human and inhuman recognition. Ability to take down even a demon king/warlord as well as angellic generals. Extreme stats are very rare and are usually possessed by those who are capable of massive destruction.
Beyond Godly Interpretation~ Undescribable in all aspects. Unmeasurable and terrifying. There is nothing greater and more powerful than this. It reaches a point where not even words can fully comprehend the powers one possesses that are beyond godly interpretation.

*Notable Strengths*:
After a few moments within his presence, it is not difficult to tell that Sparda manages to transcend the limits of a mere human. His strengths are many and almost countless but his most notable strengths are the following…

*Psychic powers*- Being able to control the physical mentally is no easy task and one that requires not only a gifted talent but also years upon years of training. However, Sparda seems to contradict this fact for during his service under the Ulgathian Army, his mental powers ascended to a level that became unimaginable. Without seemingly much effort, Sparda became capable of flying through levitation as well as the manipulation of objects around him. Through years of bloody fights, this technique has become extraordinarily useful, especially when situations become most dire. It is not unusual to see Sparda relying on his psychic abilities often for it ranks as one of his highest and most advanced abilities, next to his swordsmanship. However, in battles, a normal opponent has only been able to witness levitation, telekinesis, as well as pyrokinesis. Who knows what else Sparda is capable of with his mental power?

*Swordplay*- Having trained with the sword since his early youth, Sparda’s sword skills became unmatched, thus allowing him to join the ranks of the “Five Dragon Knights”. Despite his obvious skills in offensive and defensive techniques with the sword, it is most unusual to find that Sparda wields all any sharp edged blade with only his right hand. Some may attribute this to arrogance and overconfidence. However, one that truly understands Sparda knows that it is not because of overconfidence that he wields a sword with only one hand, no matter the size. Having been bitten on the left arm by a beast in the Ulgath realms known as the “Forest Dweller”, a strange poison seeped into his flesh, literally disabling all usage of his left arm. It wasn’t until later that Sparda was able to use his left arm only for magic. It soon became quite a habit for him to use his right hand for swordplay and his left hand for magic. But due to the fact that it has been years since the incident with the Forest Dweller, it is not unusual to assume that Sparda has been able to regain full control of his left hand for swordplay if the situation ever called for it.
Sparda’s specialty when it comes to swordplay is parrying and countering, which allows for him to exploit his opponent’s weakness in melee combat, allowing him to strike when the opponent is left most vulnerable.

*Magic Casting*- It wasn’t until later, during his quest for revenge against the entire Ulgath kingdom, did Sparda learn to secrets of magic casting. Channeling most magic through his left arm, he has been able to perfect this skill over the years, allowing for powerful spells and quick recovery time. Sparda has been known to combine his psychic powers and his swordplay skills with his magic casting abilities to create extraordinarily devastating techniques, though this is unconfirmed. It has also been rumored that Sparda is capable of a type of mysterious magic known as Chaos Magic which is said to be a type of anti-energy technique. However, since no one has truly seen this type of ‘magic’ it is unknown whether Chaos Magic truly is a type of ‘anti-energy’.

*Weapons*:

*The Deathsword*-

Though the Deathsword is not the true name of this legendary sword (its name being Eva), it has been called the Deathsword for many reasons, the main reason being that it has been the cause of countless deaths. The Deathsword, Sparda and ChaoticDeath's instrument of pure destruction and chaos is truly a weapon to behold and adore. Though its image may be gruesome, bearing a living pulsating eye at the center of its blade with veins protruding from the eye, its power is unimaginable. Boasting an impressive length of five feet with a blade larger than any other blade created by the hands of man, it is truly a formidable weapon. Its "Eye of Chaos" has always been in the center of confusion for it is uncertain what purpose it serves. Some say it serves as a heart for the sword for it pulsates and generates blood throughout the blade. Others say it is meant for a more devastating purpose.

The entire weapon as a whole is unique in that it is not only unbreakable but it has also never failed to slice through anything. Knights and peasants simply credit this ability to magic. However, researchers and philosophers discovered that the truth behind the Deathsword’s amazing attributes were due to a strange form of ‘blood’ that the sword itself generates as well as Sparda’s pyrokinesis, when necessary.
The first issue is the Deathsword’s inability to break or crack. This can be accredited to the strange blood like substance that the eye of the sword generates and pumps throughout the rest of the blade, including hilt and handle. This strange blood, when combined with simple oxygen, forms a plasma like liquid that literally strengthens the bonds between each molecule of the sword. The bonds become so great, even massive amounts of heat applied to the sword would not be enough to crack it.

However, in order for the plasma substance to be formed, oxygen is taken in and carbon dioxide is given off (not enough to be actually used against Sparda in anyway, however). This is where the sword’s ability to cut through anything comes into play. Since the plasma like substance must constantly be replaced with a new supply, the old plasma becomes a waste product, which fortunately, is reused by the sword. Originally, the plasma was circulated within the sword through the veins. However, when given off as a waste product, it manages to ‘diffuse’ through the veins, coating the entire sword with its substance. Amazingly, this magnificent substance does the exact opposite of what it originally did. Sort of like an acid, the substance greatly reduces the strength of the bonds of molecules of anything it touches [to a point that the slightest touch can literally turn the bond into nothing]. Thus, when Eva slashes mithril, its formerly strong bonds become greatly weakened, allowing for the sharp edge of the blade to easily cut through it.

One may argue that if this new substance is truly capable of such a thing, it would hurt the sword as well. However, further research indicated that due to the greater ratio of the plasma to the new substance, the substance does not affect the abilities of the plasma. Plus, due to the fact that the substance can only be found on the surface of the blade, not inside it, neither effect is hampered.
Those who have been cut by the Deathsword however, claim to have felt a strange heating sensation which burnt their skin upon contact. At first, people thought this was simply another ability of the sword. However, in truth, this is actually the effects of Sparda’s pyrokinesis. By using his hand as the channel of the pyrokinesis ability, he caused the blade to greatly increase in temperature, making it a searing hot blade. Not only does such an added effect cause more damage to certain opponents, it makes cutting other objects even easier for the heat quickly excites the molecules of the target, to a point where the bonds holding them in place actually break. However, the heat effect is not always applied to the sword due to the fact that certain opponents actually use the heat to their own advantage.

*The Sword of the Knight*-

This was Sparda’s legendary sword, the one he wielded during the Great War against the Transmarians. It greatly resembles a rapier for its handle was definitely crafted in that style though the blade itself seems to originate from a type of bastard sword, though somewhat longer. It is constantly hidden in its sheath under the darkness of Sparda’s black cloak, being strapped tightly to his right side. Sparda hardly ever uses in this battle so it is unknown what kind of abilities this unusual blade possesses. However, it would not be wrong to conclude that since Sparda went through such a transformation, the sword may have done the same as well.

*Weapon Analysis*

*The Deathsword* [Being Form 1 of 3]-
Due to the elements within and covering the sword, it is virtually indestructible and is capable of penetrating almost everything.
The sword boasts an anti-wave design which literally allows it to successfully repel anything launched at him that travels in the form of waves. Therefore, magic, sound, etc are literally useless against the weapon.
The relationship between Sparda and his sword is like alchemy within itself for their life forces are constantly bonded. This is due to the fact that a part of Sparda’s spirit resides in the sword. Therefore, it is more than possible for the Deathsword to act on its own when its master is in a very difficult predicament [this would also just barely escape the rule of ‘no summons’, etc. since the sword is basically a part of Sparda himself].
The eye, pulsating near the bottom of the sword (where the blade and hilt meet) can be utilized as a pure energy source in which Sparda can tap into when the situation calls for it.
One well positioned blow into the surface of any planet is enough to reach the core and completely destroy it.

*Untainted Rage* [Being Form 2 of 3]-
Much like the Deathsword, it is capable of circulating the plasma substances throughout its blade, hilt, and handle. However, in this form, the production is doubled. Therefore, the plasma and substance enhancements are increased by two.
The design of the sword changes for the better, becoming sharper and sleeker than before. Inertia and friction do not and cannot apply to the blade or the weapon as a whole.
Not only does the sword still boast an anti-wave design, it now also contains a ‘light absorbent’ element on the blade which allows it constantly ‘eat’ any light whenever it deems necessary.
The alchemist bonding between Sparda and the Untainted Rage is maintained at an even higher level.
The Untainted Rage is the ‘maturing’ stage of the Eva’s full life cycle [the “Deathsword” being the larva stage].
A careless slash with the blade of the sword is enough to cause a chain reaction, resulting in literally the destruction of half of a solar system.

*True Eva* [Being Form 3 of 3]
The final stage of Eva’s life cycle, this stage being the full ‘adult’ stage.
The design of the sword changes yet again. Gravity, inertia, friction, and all other forms of movement restriction become non existent.
Weapon becomes the ultimate anti- instrument, being able to repel almost every thing launched at him.
Relationship between Sparda and weapon is brought to the highest level.
An opponent can die simply by touching the blade of the weapon for in addition to the plasma substance covering its blade is another layer of a clear liquid substance. This clear liquid substance is unique in that it can adapt to the opponent in such a way, it will form an anti- counterpart for it, resulting in death (much like antibodies in relationship to antigens. The anti- counterparts are very unique and extremely specific).

*Armor*:

Mithril Chain Mail-
The Mithril Chain Mail, covering the entirety of Sparda’s torso as well as his arms, is a truly formidable piece of armor that grants Sparda a substantial amount of defense against almost any type of weapon and/or attack. Each mithril ring upon the chain mail was so tightly linked and packed together that penetration is next to impossible. Plus, due to the mithril material itself, breaking the chain mail as a whole is extremely unlikely. However, since the Mithril Chain Mail is not enchanted by magic of any sort, the maker of this fantastic piece of armor can only claim it to be virtually indestructible.

The Black Cloak-
At first glance, Sparda’s signature black cloak seems to be rather ordinary. However, looks can be extraordinarily deceiving. Due to the miraculous fabric and magic it was enchanted with, the cloak can literally ‘solidify’ itself at will. In other words, it can turn its entire substance to become harder and more durable than titanium alloy. It is also contains a rare magic repellent which, as the name implies, allows it to repel magic waves and things of that nature. When Sparda is fully cloaked, he becomes literally undetectable. Not even the most advanced psychic powers or sonar hearing is capable of picking him out. This becomes especially useful in the dark or in clouded battlefields.

*Attire*:

Black ‘Leather’ Gloves-
Resistant to fire/heat/extreme cold.
Extremely flexible and durable at the same time.
Useful for swordfights.
Does not hamper the amplification of Sparda’s energy waves.

Black Boots-
Resistant to fire/heat/extreme cold.
Very light.
Strong and durable
Thickness of material ensures strong protection

Thick black ‘leather’ pants-
Composed of a ‘lesser’ form of mithril, able to be manifested in a more flexible form.
Very light, extremely durable, very flexible.
Resistant to fire/heat/extreme cold.
Does not hamper Sparda’s movements.

***

*Transformation*:

Metatron-
The Metatron, in old Hebrew myths, is the ‘lesser Yahweh’. However, for Sparda, it is the physical manifestation of Chaos within his soul and spirit. Yet, the question is, what is Sparda capable as the Metatron? When the transformation is complete, exactly 365 orbs form and orbit his presence. The orbs are in truth ‘eyes’. Also, six pairs of wings erupt from Sparda’s back, arms, and legs, giving him the ability and gift of flight. Yet, these are only the most basic and most noticeable additions to his body as a whole. No one is sure of what the ‘eyes’ that orbit him are capable of but it has been rumored that they are in truth live and active stars, each of them contained within a tiny spherical container. Whether they are used as a well and source of power or for offensive tactics is unknown.
When in the Metatron state, Sparda no longer becomes capable of utilizing psychic powers and telekinesis. This in turn, however, is sacrificed for an ability that is much more deadly than mind and mental powers and control…
The Metatron state, however, cannot even begin to compare what Sparda is capable of at his full potential.

*Questions and Answers*

Q: The name Sparda has been known on several boards now, especially in the simbattle arenas. How did Sparda first come to life?

A: ‘Sparda’ first came into existence, not as the being you see now, but as a mortal under a different name. You see, his sword is his most defining item. His sword first came into appearance in a Yu-Gi-Oh fanfic when I had opted to create a new Millennium Item. I did so, the item being a sword bearing the carving of an eye on its blade, wielded by an Egyptian general named Mazada [who later becomes one of the Five Dragon Knights in my story]. When the fanfic was completed, I realized what I had created and decided to expand on it. To make a long story short, Mazada became Sparda, the Chaotic Death and the eye upon his sword became a real living eye rather than a simple carving. The ChaoticDeath first came about on a board [now deceased] known as X-Realms. However, he didn’t become truly known until he came to Anime-Us.

Q: What is Sparda? We know he isn’t human…at least not anymore.

A: Yes, you can say that Sparda started off as a human. But if you do so, you must also mention the fact that Sparda was an extraordinary human, being capable of amplifying mental waves to a point in which he was able to use telekinesis. Sparda is a divinity, one that rules over all aspects of chaos in an alternate realm parallel to this one. Is he a god? Yes. He is a god. But not in the sense that he cannot be killed. In fact, the gods of the alternate realm, when their time came, are replaced by mortals who ascend to godhood. Of course, for Sparda, he was an exception. A mere human cannot even being to comprehend what another realm’s ‘god’ can be for they are too accustomed to the capabilities of their own ‘god’. Sparda is a god in the sense that he is truly a master of what he rules over. He is immortal but not invincible. Yet, he has been rumored to be untouchable due the massive power that he wields and is capable of using.

Q: So Sparda is a god…but he isn’t?

A: Yes. No human words can describe what Sparda truly is. He is a divinity that has powers that no divine being should possess.
{Comments from Beo: No human words? I got some human words to describe him...try the following- Crazy, Nuts, Evil, Bastard. IS THAT HUMAN ENOUGH FOR YOU?!}

Q: Why didn’t you just go with a demon or some angel?

A: Because they are way overused. I needed something original and unique to grace my character with.

Q: Can Sparda be stopped…at all?

A: Simbattle wise- Yes. It’s simply a matter of knowing what you’re doing. Story wise- Yes. As of yet, only four things have been capable of stopping Sparda: Mira, Azriel, the Five Seals, and the 'Legendary Five'.

Q: *The Legendary Five*?

A: Five deities of the Chaotic Death’s realm. As individuals, they are not capable of withstanding Sparda’s power. However, when working together, they become an unstoppable force, even rivaling that of the ChaoticDeath. However, this is under the impression that Sparda is still being restrained by the five seals.

Q: You’ve been mentioning the *Five Seals* quite a lot now. What exactly are they?

A: They are as the name implies: Five Seals. Placed upon Sparda’s back by the king’s original advisor, they are the only instruments capable of holding back his power. Granted, Sparda is still capable of great amounts of chaos and destruction, even if he is held back by the seals. However, if he were to remove them, who knows what else might happen?

Q: So you’re saying that after all the battles you’ve won, you have never even removed a single seal before?

A: That is correct save three battles. I have never bothered to remove the seals since the situation never deemed it necessary. However, the three battles where I did remove a seal [just one, mind you], it was because I was putting on a show and/or the opponent requested it.

Q: Dude, that's so bullshit. You totally removed the seals because you needed to, not because you were putting on a show.

A: Oh really? Then I suggest you reread Sparda's history. There's a certain point I made in there that should explain this entire situation, if you can find it that is...

Q: If Sparda is so strong, how is it that the seals were able to attach to him in the first place?

A: The king’s advisor is a powerful oracle under the Legendary Five. The Five Seals and the Legendary Five are related in that in order for the Five Seals to work, each of the Legendary Five must give up a drop of their immortal blood. One must understand that when the seals were placed on Sparda, he had yet to discover his true potential and that the seals on his back are made by immortal hands.

Q: Could you give us an analysis and a briefing on Sparda’s powers if he were to remove the seals?

A: Certainly…

5 Seals-
Sparda’s power is greatly restrained. Alchemy becomes inaccessible. Amplification of mental waves and energy waves is reduced by a hundred fold [yes, you heard me]. Speed, strength, and stamina are also greatly hampered.

4 Seals-
Sparda just barely manages to tap into the powers of Alchemy. Restrictions are somewhat reduced…but not enough for him to truly go ‘all out’.

3 Seals-
Sparda now bares enough power to equal a human god. Alchemy levels are greatly increased but barely reach the halfway point. Restrictions are reduced yet again, just reaching the halfway point. A single careless movement can accidentally destroy all life on a planet.

2 and less-
???

Mind you, that was just a very simple and basic outline.

Q: In the Weapon Analysis section, you mentioned that the Deathsword can turn into the Untainted Rage and then True Eva. What should the opponent do when True Eva is unleashed?

A: Run the fuck away.

Q: Excuse me?

A: Yes. You heard me. When Sparda unleashes True Eva, it is best to run away. True Eva is not just a sword but the purest manifestation of the ChaoticDeath and of Sparda in a weapon. It is the peace maker and the peace breaker. There is no opposite to it. It is ying and yang. The slightest touch from the blade can cause an opponent to die on the spot, before he/she even reaches the ground.

Q: Can you tell us more about the figure known as ‘Lord Azriel’ and his relationship to Sparda?

A: Azriel and Sparda are simply two of the three figures that make up what most people call the “Three Chaos”. The final figure that completes the Three Chaos also happens to be one of the deities in the Legendary Five. Her name is Eve but in regards to the triangle that she forms with Sparda and Azriel, she is known as Hope. Azriel and Sparda are part of the eternal struggle of a two sided equation. What Sparda does, Azriel strives to destroy and vice versa. Metaphorically, they represent Chaos: the unbalancing of the equation. While Sparda is known as the Divinity which rules over Chaos, Leonis became jealous and wished to seize Sparda’s power for his own. His jealousy as well as help from his uncle transformed him into another deity, much like Sparda. It is safe to say that, since chaos has so many different aspects, Sparda and Azriel represent the different aspects of chaos. Thus, they are forced in an eternal struggle until a victor emerges.

Q: So how does Hope [Eve] fit into the equation?

A: Chaos can bring about destruction and ruin. But hope can also emerge from it. Eve is meant to be the ‘peacekeeper’ in the triangle. She is given the job of quelling the chaos if the equation becomes unbalanced.

*Techniques*

The following attacks are merely demonstrations. A taste of what Sparda is capable of in each category. Note that because the attacks are in the profile doesn't mean they are his strongest.

*Swordplay*~

Death Slash- Sparda unleashes a very wide and long ranged sword slash [armed with the Deathsword] that is not only extraordinarily powerful and fast but also very precise and extremely accurate. To even the most trained warrior, the slash is nothing more than a mere blur. Because the attack is unleashed at such an amazing speed and with great amounts of force and strength, most defenses are often rendered useless, falling victim to the special effects of the weapon. What is unique about this technique is that anything within ten feet of the slash is likely to be hit by the after-effects of the technique for the force applied to the blow is so great, the blade actually creates an unusually strong wind which travels fast and strong enough to rip apart steel.

*Magic*~

Decimate1- This ability is a very unique ability and very deadly though it is lacking in some areas. Sparda shoots his hand forward with his index finger pointing at the opponent, or anything else. Using a combination of pure psyche energy as well as his own ability to ‘excrete’ energy in any ‘physical form’, Sparda unleashes a strictly non-elemental beam that is only one micrometer in width [The shape is maintained by Sparda’s telekinesis to ensure that the energy waves that compose the beam do not move out of place. The small width of the beam allows for the technique to travel extraordinarily fast without much resistance]. Though it travels only in a perfect straight line, its power is devastating, literally able to penetrate anything and everything (except for very rare and extremely extraordinary occasions) due to the speed at which it travels [approximately 160fps+ (more if stated otherwise)]. Penetration is guaranteed 99% of the time due to the combination of speed as well as accuracy [plus the width of the beam] in which Decimate is launched. Reflecting this attack is virtually impossible due to the telekinesis that is applied onto the beam to ensure that the waves never move out of place.

*Background and history*:

Fate and destiny are certainly interesting 'beings' in that a single change in time can alter the effects it has on the future, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. Though it is unknown whether the birth of Sparda the Chaoticdeath truly was beneficial for the future of Ulgath, it nevertheless occurred. However, the birth of the Chaoticdeath, not Sparda, can be attributed to one thing and one thing only: The Great War between Ulgath and Transmare.

It was because of the Great War that Sparda's father and mother were united. However, soon after birth, they were both slaughtered, victims of this Great War. After this great tragedy, which had left a great scar upon the child, Sparda was taken care of by several other people, all who suffered the same fate as Sparda's parents. However, the most notable caretaker of Sparda's was a young woman named Eva who adopted Sparda as a brother, rather than a son (due to the relatively small age difference). It was from Eva and her predecessor that Sparda first became accustomed to the ways of the sword.

Eva was a loving sister, caring for Sparda as if he truly was her brother. Sparda returned this love as best as he could. They felt bonded to each other for they both became victims of the Great War, having lost all they had: home and parents to the Transmarians. Both being orphans, they stuck together in hopes of remaining strong through such difficult times. However, tragedy would soon rear its ugly head one more...

Eva was one of the very few and extraordinarily rare women who aspired to become a knight for Ulgath and she certainly was ready for such a position for her swordsmanship was just as advanced as any other high ranking knight, having trained since childhood. She was soon eligible to become one of the Five Dragon Knights due to her abilities. However, before such a thing could occur, Eva's home was attacked by a group of Transmarian spies along with other unfortunate homes living on the most southern tip of Ulgath. Eva attempted to fight off the Transmarian spies while Sparda fled, being too inexperienced with the sword to truly accomplish anything.

However, despite her great skills, she was outnumbered and the Transmarians overtook her. They brutally raped her before leaving a dagger in her abdomen. Now, Sparda, who had secretly returned to Eva's house to aid his sister despite her pleas to have him flee, saw what had occured. He felt a searing pain in his mind as agony and torture seemed to flow through his veins. What happened next was a complete shock to the entire kingdom for this deed against his beloved sister took him to his breaking point, unleashing the mental powers within him that no child should ever possess.

The next day, a group of Ulgath soldiers found the shredded bodies of the Transmarians next to Sparda, his face covered in blood. He was immediately taken to the king. The king was told everything that occurred and was shocked to see such a young man possessing such powers. He immediately sent Sparda to the barracks, giving him the chance to train as a knight and seek revenge against the Transmarians. Sparda eagerly agreed and took on this training with all his heart and soul.

Five years passed and Sparda became one of the most well known knights in Ulgath, having advanced greatly, not only in swordsmanship but also in his mental powers. He was promoted to general and lead Ulgath's armies to constant victories. It wasn't long before he became one of the Five Dragon Knights.

At last, the Great War was ended with Sparda standing as its victor. It was he who struck the final blow to end the war, making him a hero amongst the Ulgathians. However, one of the Five Dragon Knights, Leonis, became deeply jealous of Sparda and planned to have him killed. His uncle, Sanga, who was the king's royal advisor had hoped to have his nephew take the throne. Seeing Sparda as a threat to his plans, he immediately concocted a plan.

There had been talk of a strange being on the eastern coast of Ulgath slaying the villagers known as the "Forest Dweller". Sanga immediately advised the king to send Sparda and another Dragon Knight to investigate and slay the Forest Dweller. Because the king trusted Sanga deeply and recognized the danger the Forest Dweller presented to his people, he agreed and sent Sparda and Mazada to the forest on the east coast along with a small troop.

Sparda and Mazada entered the forest, attempting to find the strange creature. However, it was the creature that found them. The Forest Dweller proved to be a most formidable foe for it used the forest as a sort of camoflauge, allowing it to sneak through it without being noticed. It was through this method that it quickly dispatched off the entire troop along with Mazada. However, it was unable to kill of Sparda. Instead, it only managed to bite deep into his left arm before it fled.

When Sparda had awaken in a strange bed after his near death encounter with the Forest Dweller, he met her. Her name was Mira, a beautiful maiden who lived with her people in the forest. It was later discovered that Mira and her people were actually Transmarians who had fled their home country in hopes of escaping the war generations ago. Prolong exposure to the enchanted forest slightly changed their appearance for the better.

As Mira nursed Sparda back to health, Sparda slowly revealed his heart to her and they would spend night after night talking of things that had passed and things that might come. Mira gave him a new hope in life that was filled with chaos and tragedy. The two fell in love and got married, spending a year happily together. However, it wasn't long before another tragedy would strike.

Feeling bonded to his strange new home and his beloved wife, he became deeply distressed to hear that a strange 'being' was threatening life in the forest. He immediately set out to find and slay this strange being. Mira accompanied him, refusing to leave him alone to such a dangerous task. However, when they came upon this 'strange' being, it was found that it was nothing more than a sword. The sword. This was no chance encountered for Fate was at her tricks again, realizing that there was now a new need for the birth of a new deity of chaos. She chose Sparda due to the chaos and agony that lay hidden within him.

Sparda took the sword for his own and returned to his 'home' with Mira were a surprised greeted him. Mira's people refused to let him back, fearing that the sword would be the death of them all. Not wanting to go against their wishes, he consented and left, deciding to return to the capital of Ulgath. His wife, Mira, refused to leave him and decided to go with him.

Little did Sparda know that things had changed while he was away. Sanga had successfully poisoned the king’s mind, forcing him to believe that Sparda was a traitor to the kingdom of Ulgath for killing Mazada and bringing home a Transmarian. Later, the king had three of his most trusted knights go to assassinate Sparda and Mira for their crimes. However, Sparda was not at his house that day, deciding to take a walk alone to think things over. When the three knights reached his home, they found Mira alone. They brutally raped her and left her dying. Almost as if Sparda could hear her pain, he rushed back just in time to see the three knights just about to leave. Seeing the body of his lover, he lost control and slaughtered the three knights without as much as a drop of hesitation.

However, the wounds that were inflicted upon Mira were too great and she soon died in Sparda’s arms. At last, Sparda had finally broken his limit. The chaos and rage within him felt as if it could burst through his skins from his pores. He would seek revenge...against the entire kingdom that brought about this. It was at this very moment, that Sparda was able to truly tap into the powers that had lay hidden within him for so long, aided by the great sword that he had found. It was at this moment that the Chaotic Death was truly born.

Mira’s body was never found…nor was Sparda. Instead…he found them. For years, Sparda laid waste to the minor cities of Ulgath, slowly destroying the kingdom piece by piece. It was as if every sense of sanity within him was destroyed forever, only to be replaced by a hunger and thirst for revenge and chaos. Many attempts were made to stop him…all failed. The following is an excerpt by a scribe who managed to witness one of Sparda’s slayings. Whether he was unnoticed by the madman or let loose willingly is unconfirmed.

*Excerpt from Rikan, the Scribe*:

“The man took a step forward with the sword in hand. There was an uneasy presence about him, as if he was cloaked, not only in that black cloak of his but also in some dark form of magic. The thieves suddenly grew too afraid to do anything. They stared as the man took another step forward. The last thing they saw was the man raising the sword and swinging it. Then they saw nothing more. Darkness covered their world forever. The man took one more glimpse at their corpses before sighing and slowly walking away, with no remorse or hesitation.

“Halt!”, a voice from behind suddenly cried out before the man could take his tenth step. He stopped as if acknowledging the voice but did not turn around to see who it was. “Turn around and face me at once, vermin!”, the voice cried again, this time with greater ferocity. The man said nothing but did as he was told and looked at the man who was calling to him. It was a very large man clad in silver armor and a silver helmet. In his right hand was a heavy broad sword and a shield in his left hand, bearing the coat of arms of the Ulgath Kingdom. Behind him stood four other soldiers, dressed in the same attire. One of the soldiers armed himself with a bow and a quiver of strong wooden arrows rather than a sword. They all stared at the man, their faces refusing to show an ounce of fear.

“In the name of the Great King!, Sir Sparda of the Sword is to be executed. Manner of execution lies in the hand of the High Knights!”, the leader cried as he gripped the handle of his sword tighter. A low chuckle could be heard from the man called Sparda as he observed the five High Knights that stood before him with amusement, within the shadows of his hood. The leader of the High Knights seemed a bit surprised to see the man laugh when he was in such a difficult predicament. He scowled and took a step forward, raising his shield like a signal. The archer in the back immediately held up his bow and placed an arrow against the tight sinew string. He pulled the tail of the arrow back and slowly aimed it at the man’s head, the sinew stretching back creating a soft noise. Suddenly, his fingers released the arrow and it shot forward, creating the sound of wind as it flew at Sparda’s head. However, he did nothing to stop it as it came closer and closer to a fatal blow.

When it seemed that the arrow was just about to make contact with its intended target, he suddenly held up his enormous sword, the arrow crashing and breaking against the cold hard blade. Then, with a single swift motion, Sparda dashed forward with a speed that seemed impossible to manage, especially with such an enormous sword in his hand. The archer shook with fear as he attempted to fit another arrow onto the bow. But he was too slow for the enormous blade shot forward and easily pierced the tough silver armor he wore over his torso, putting an enormous hole right into the center of his pulsating heart. He screamed in agony and pain as blood shot out of the wound the sword had created but was soon silent from the incredible lose of blood. The other four soldiers stood there, shocked at their opponent’s amazing stamina and vitality. They quickly gritted their teeth and lunged forward, swinging their heavy swords like madmen. Though they were strong, they swung their swords blindly, each swing missing its intended target terribly. The cloaked man used this to his advantage as he gracefully danced around their swords and made his way behind one of the High Knights. With his right arm and hand, he grabbed the back of the soldier’s head and twisted it into a sick and disgusting position. The man could not cry out for his throat was completely torn apart as was his vertebrae. He collapsed silently onto the ground.

The leader of the High Knights was shocked at how swiftly and how quickly the man disposed of two of his greatest soldiers. In a fit of rage, he charged forward with his sword pointing forward, attempting to impale him with its tip. However, his armor slowed him down greatly for the man easily rolled to the side just as the leader lunged forward so that he now stood vulnerable and in front of his opponent. A dreadful and painful mistake for the man took his sword and with a mighty swing, he sliced off the knight’s legs as if they were already detached to begin with. He screamed as loudly as he could as he felt for his legs but found that they were no longer a part of him. Blood poured out from where his legs were as he began shaking all over, the shock overcoming him. Only two terrified knights remained, staring at what had just come to pass. Not five minutes have passed and almost the entire squad had been disposed of like flies.

They shook violently as they dropped their swords and ran away, horrified at the man they were sent to execute. He remained silent as he suddenly dashed forward once again, instantly catching up with the two frightened soldiers. Using the end of the sword’s handle, he bashed one of the soldier’s helmet. The force was so great, the helmet instantly dented and the soldier’s skull shattered. He fell, silent, dead before he touched the ground. He then swung his sword once again in an unusual diagonal direction at the final soldier. His precision and accuracy were indeed terrifying for the tip of his sword skillfully but easily cut through the frightened knight’s helmet and sliced through his skull and brain. He instantly collapsed, the top section of his head detaching from the rest of his body.

The leader of the High Knights, who was not yet passed, had enough energy to watch what had become of his knights. With his remaining strength, he managed to utter, “M-m-m-monster…” as his body continue to tremble dangerously and violently. Sparda slowly turned around and walked up to the dying leader and stared into his eyes as if he was reading him like a book.

“No. Not monster. Terror”, he muttered under his breath as he held high his sword, its tip pointing down. The leader tried to cry but could not as the cold steel of the warrior’s sword impaled the knight’s heart. He tried to gasp for more air but could not as he grew forever silent.

It was during this time, however, that another fight was going on in Ulgath…one within the ranks of the royal family itself. Sanga planned for the usurpation of the king, wishing to replace him with his nephew, Leonis. Meanwhile, the king’s daughter, named Eva, was being forced to marry a young man from another kingdom. Refusing to go through with the marriage, Eva snuck away from the castle one night. As luck would have it, it happened during the same night in which Sanga succeeded in usurping the king, killing him and his royal guards. However, they never found Eva.

Eva, escaping amongst the ranks of the peasants, ran into Sparda by pure luck. However, Sparda did not kill her for he seemed to sense some strange presence about her. He later realized that she was the key to breaking the magic seals on his back [Explained in the Q&A]. Realizing that killing her would not be able to break the seal, he restrained himself. Eva, who had read up on Sparda’s accomplishments and his past, tried to understand what was the cause of his agony and suffering. Slowly but surely, she opened his heart and Eva brought back his sanity. He ended his massacres and focused on what truly needed to be done. Sanga and Leonis [Who took the name Lord Azriel] had taken control of the kingdom. They needed to be stopped.

An army, loyal to Eva and the true royal family, was gathered under her command. Lord Azriel did the same, prepared to meet Eva’s army on the battlefield. Sparda participated in the war as well, but his focus was not on the army but on Azriel himself.

As the armies met, Sparda engaged Azriel and a great battle ensued. Amazingly, Azriel seemed to possess the same power as Sparda did. He was somehow linked to the great sword as Sparda was. Before the finishing blow could be struck against him, Eva finally figured out how to break the seals on Sparda’s back. It was at this very moment that the tides changed and Sparda was finally able to defeat Azriel.

Unfortunately, the wounds dealt to him were too great and Sparda soon realized that he too would also die. The following is an excerpt from one of the army scribes who was able to watch and record everything he saw during Sparda’s death…

*Excerpt from army scribe, Jakov*:

Sparda stood very still for a moment before finally collapsing onto his knees, his breathing becoming greater and heavier. Blood flowed out of his torso like a river as he weakly placed his legendary sword in front of him. He was dying and he knew it very well. Then, it seemed as if he were talking to the sword, the strange living eye at its center reacting to everything he said. Though it was difficult to hear, here is what I was able to make out “I have done everything according to our plan…it is enough to bring her back…” He then, with much trouble, attempted to thrust the blade of the sword into the ground. However, as he did so, he suddenly froze as if some strange spirit had appeared before him or some vision flooded his mind. His eyes grew wide and became teary. “Now I understand…”, he said. “That was what she was trying to tell me…”

He was silent for a while. He remained in that position, as still as a statue; I began to think that he had already died. But nay, this was untrue for moments later, he began to mutter under his breath. “For her life…I happily trade mine…So that she can experience a world I can only dream of…”

It was at this moment that a bright light escaped the entire sword in his hands, as if some apparition had heard his prayer and went out to grant it. When the light had dimmed down, there was Sparda, on the ground, dead at last.

The queen, Eva, at last found the great warrior lying there and slowly walked up to him. She embraced him tightly for a few moments before summoning her bodyguards. “Sparda…is our savior and a hero to our kingdom. May he be given a hero’s burial.”

This was carried out two days later. All the people of the kingdom gathered and paid their respects to the warrior….

As for the sword, I cannot honestly say what became of it. It simply vanished. However, as the old rumors say… “Wherever he is…his sword is.”

The following is an excerpt from the Grand Vizer of Ulgath castle, following the aftermath of the great battle.

*Excerpt from Grand Vizer, Rakis*

All was carried out as our new Queen Eva had instructed. Sparda, despite his horrific slaughtering of the people, was given a great and wonderful burial, after having redeemed himself through his aid to Ulgath and her Queen. Ulgath was at last, at peace. The body of the traitor, Sir Leonis, or Azrael, as he was later called, was cremated and the ashes were thrown into the Sea of the Dead.

Now, not a single day had passed, when a strange event took place within the halls of Ulgath. After consulting with Queen Eva, herself, I was able to get all the facts straight. A little girl was found, huddled in the corner of Eva's bedroom. She couldn't have been more than 4 years old. Her parents were not present and she was all alone. The guards were shocked to see such a young child manage to sneak right past them. When Queen Eva entered her room that night and saw this child, she nearly fainted. This young child had light brown eyes, light skin, and , rather unusually, black hair, which seemed to have a green tinge to it. Around her right wrist was a small bracelet. From that point on, Queen Eva took care of this young child as if she were her own. Though Her Majesty does have several children later on, her love for this new child never wavered. This young girl was named Cassandra.

Now, according to army scribe, Jacov's writings during the conclusion of the great battle, he mentioned hearing Sparda saying that he would "happily give his life for hers" and that he now "understood what she was trying to tell" him. Though I do not pretend to understand the mechanics of the Spirit Realm nor the power of Sparda, I truly believe that the young girl, Cassandra, is in fact Sparda's daughter, her mother being Mira. I came to this conclusion after coming across two understandings. The first understanding was that Sparda's wife, Mira, was in fact one of the race of people we call "Forest Dweller", having branched off the Transmarian lineage hundreds of years ago. Being closely associated with nature and especially the forest, it has been said that a Forest Dwellers' hair bares a slight to a great green tinge and occasionally light green eyes. I know this to be a fact when I met Sparda's wife some years ago before insanity took hold of him. Appearances such as this is quite rare. The second understanding was simply this: Sparda's wife was pregnant before she died. Like I mentioned before, I do not pretend to understand how the Spirit Realm works but I firmly believe that while Sparda's original intentions were to bring Mira back, some apparation or spirit, most likely Mira herself, sent Sparda a vision of what would of become of their family had the dreaded chain of events that effected Sparda, and ultimately the entire kingdom, not taken place. Taken aback by this sudden understanding, he immediately decided that it would be better to allow his daughter to live.

This is, of course, merely my hypothesis. I still do not know if Cassandra is truly the daughter of Sparda, the High Knight, and Mira, the Forest Dweller. However, as the days go on, and Cassandra matures, she slowly begins to resemble more and more like her parents, possessing her mother's beauty and her father's determination.

...I believe she will grow up to do great things...

**Five Dragon Knights**

The Ulgath is known for many great and magnificent things: architecture, art, philosophy, science, alchemy, chivalry, strength in armies, and strategic generals. Of all of the great generals that had ever served under the name of Ulgath and its king, there were five who became legends. United under a single banner, having all sworn the same oath, they commanded the great armies and soldiers of Ulgath deep into the hearts of all wars, emerging victorious. Each of these five generals were very different from one another; the one thing that unified them was the title of “Dragon Knight”.

To the Ulgathians, the dragon is a symbol of courage and of strength. In the face of danger, the dragon does not cower and flee but rather stands strong and faces the opponent that stands before it. Fortified with great durable scales, gifted with magnificent wings, and armed with sharp teeth and talons, the dragon not only makes for a dangerous foe to deal with but one of beauty and grace. It is said that before the times of the kings, when Ulgath was merely a collection of small cities run by a joint council, it came under attack by neighboring savages and barbarians, wishing to take over what the Ulgathians had worked so hard to achieve. However, before the savages, armed with their mighty clubs and crude swords, could reach the weak city walls, a great shadow from the sky dove through the clouds and landed gracefully onto the ground, in front of Ulgath’s enemies. It was a dragon, adorning magnificent beautiful red scales and large wings. Before the savages could react, the dragon slain them all, leaving non alive. The Ulgathians were terrified at the sight of this new and formidable beast, afraid to confront it. However, instead of striking down the city walls with just a single blow from its mighty claws, it merely gazed at it with its bright yellow eyes before spreading its great wings and launching itself back into the sky.

It was from that very point; the dragon became the guardian creature and overlord of the Ulgathians. Because the five great generals are charged with the defense of the Ulgath kingdom as well as the protection of the great king, they are given the title of “Dragon Knight” so that they could never forget what the great red dragon had done for the Ulgath people and that they would do the same. Each Dragon Knight is given a great cloak to symbolize the mighty wings of the dragon as well as armor and mighty weapons to symbolize the dragon’s scales and talons.

The Five Dragon Knights came into existence during the beginning of the great war when assassins nearly succeeded in killing the king. From that point on, the king promoted five of his most trusted and strongest generals to the rank of Dragon Knight, giving them the difficult task of leading the armies to victory. The faces of the Dragon Knights have changed over the years as the great war progressed. In fact, when Sparda was born, the Ulgath kingdom was already looking at its third generation of Dragon Knights. However, it wasn’t until very late in the war that Ulgath finally realized its greatest five: Mazada, Faygo, Leonis, Sparda, and Vincens. Each of the latest Dragon Knights had risen up to the ranks of High Knights before their last and final promotion. Though only two of these Dragon Knights were of royal blood, all of them proved to be more than capable of handling the job.
Unfortunately, the Five Dragon Knights, having been the best among the best, were easily crumbled, not by swords and arrows, but by jealousy and greed. Though Leonis was easily the strongest and most capable swordsman of the five as well as being noble blooded, it was Sparda that won the most attention for ending the great war. Though the other three knights congratulated and praised him, Leonis- who would later become the dreaded Lord Azrael- became filled with greed, feeling that he was cheated out of his own glory. It was this greed and jealousy that eventually led to the Dark Ages of Ulgath and the destruction of the Five Dragon Knights.
