Thats a smack in the face... I thought I demonstrated my fighting ability more, but it doesnt matter.. Now I can carry on and fight others without this gloom and doom here... I predict Benja will probably fall, and Shuyin says he has more power then Beowulf, so it will be a close one, with Shuyin pulling ahead to win (unless some weird round one shit happens and people loss by 3 day dq..

My two cents (in an unofficial capacity):

Taking into account the fact that english is not his first language, Beo demonstrated slightly better writing skill. However..Desroth's last attack was perhaps the most innovative of the battle.

I'd call it something of a stalemate without seeing Beo's reply to the attack. I think THAT would have given a very clear victor.

As it is..i was impressed reading both of your posts. Good show boys.

*shrugs*...I guess controlling the entire pace of the fight doesnt mean much... But I guess i should have just went all out eh? instead of setting up a planned paced to force people into higher "modes" while giving you more room to grow.... But yeah. I could say more things...But in all it will never matter. I knew i wasnt going past this round anyway due to mostly politics.

Bye bye all. Nice to meet some of you. This is good bye as I wont be returning.

EDIT: Ah...thought of something that bugged me the entire time. I HATE when people copy paste attacks from a prewritten state straight out of the profile... Seriously... No taking time to literally write out the move....the attack and how it effects that situation. Just...OOO! *copy paste* Does tthat!

Okay..NOW i see that Elyk lost his fight.

*Sigh*

Elyk..they've never seen you really fight. You know that not everyone here could see how you were handling that battle. Though i AM rather surprised that the judges did not..

Lev, Beowulf is deaf, so he does not understand all the nuaincess of how sentences work and such. Dont hold that against him, it is not his fault. Besides, I have known him for long enough to understand what he means usually. And yes, it was kind of like the last thing Xeios was saying about getting knocked out. All I needed was 1 more post and Beowulf would have lost (maybe 2 more, just to unleash the 3rd and final plan I had.). I dont care that he moved on, but I would have liked to see what Beowulf would have done against that Distortion magic around himself though... Maybe I will open a battle that picks up right there against Beowulf so I can see what he would really do? But anyway, Beowulf fought well towards the end, and I guess that was what made the difference. I waited entirely to long to launch my plans since I though the dome was wider then it was, lol. Oh, I changed my mind on my prediction:

Benja is really wanting to prove the little man can win against these people, and he will steam roll Beowulf, UNTIL Beowulf busts out that new sword of his and totally owns Benja (Beo, no offense, but I dont see why you say that sword is randomly activated, I dont think someone would constatly make it not activate)

Jade and Shuyin will go at it, and I cant for sure say who will win that one... I never really pictured Shuyin lossing (since he definetly is one of the stronger people here if he is using his main naruto-based-highly-modded-character). Shuyin will probably win it and take on Beowulf.

The finals will be a blast. I think Shuyin has more strength then Beowulf, but Beowulf goes with the flow of the battle. Shuyin will give him a tough battle to be sure, but now I see that it will end it a tie (as in both would go down and out hitting each other with their moves).

As for what Lev said with the stalemate, yeah, I would have atleast seen what Beowulf did back against it. The whole battle was setting him up into 3 plans I made. He already knows the one (Elw Seal Chain), but I dont think he knows the other 2... But good luck all!!

Sorry, it's hard of hearing. I can still listen things without hearing aids, it's just harder to listen if talking to me normally. (Hey, talking close to my ear does work sometime.)

And can't you read it either?

Geez, thank. Mean alot. (Used Microsoft Word document often. =P I guess that why I "demonstrated" slightly better writing skill. ) And I have to say, too, Leviathan. You aren't that bad either.

My shield already took care of that. The reverse effect only capable of aging the magical energy (Which seem to me that is uneffected since it is magic against magic and nothing remained affected) barrier which proves that no matter how long it is, the barrier can last long against the Distortion. It's kinda hold back most constant magical substance (such as your Quicksilver and Distortion) from taking a toll "constantly". Meaning it won't work unless it is one time attacking magic (like casting a fire arrow or a ice rock at him, it can go through the barrier and hit him anyway).

And working on the Lotus(ous) sword. I am thinking of updating it.

But honestly, Desroth, the battle proven more then I expected it would be. Good job as well. It's just that... You sometime made things "boring" for me.

So Holsety or Fala Flame isn't enough? Some predictions this is. Remind me to cast FE4 Hell on you.

Losing, not lossing. You also need to take account into Jade's D&D abilities as well. For all I care, she could cast entangle and web, letting Shuyin fight with a slight difficulty due to the radius effect spell and having the spell effect with temporary time. Let not forget some of the D&D stuff can do.

Overall, Round 3 is going to be... Probably the most popular battle and a famous one too. I'm looking forward to our match, Benja. And as for both of you, Shuyin and Elara, looking forward to your match as well.

Just a note Elyk, I do write out the attack as it is seen in battle. However, for it's effects I have found that it is better for me to do the copy/paste thing because that way it is straight from my profile and thusly cannot be challenged by people saying "that's not what you said it did" or "you didn't say it did that" because they are presented with EXACTLY what it does.

And you weren't controlling the pace of the fight. I countered everything you threw at me and didn't really get close to a power up at all, just raging, which is minor. I think it just is bad too place two opponents who use radically different systems against each other. You gave me a fairly decent challenge. I would have taken you out or "taken control of the pace" sooner or at all if it were not for my school schedule... if you didn't notice, a lot of my posts were made late at night.

I personally am surprised that I made it this far. But Kaijin and Sparda are fair and unbiased judges, so I do not feel that my victoy was due to "politics"

And again, damn, I wanted to fight Benja.

... oh, side rant: Just because you lost does not mean that you have to leave. "Oh I lost, I'm not happy, I'm leaving because I'm a sore loser". Grow up.

Ive gotten farther then alot of people might have predicted, hell, ALOT of people got farther then other people predicted. We should all be proud of ourselves and what weve done so far. I look forward to this next fight and it shall be a blockbuster. I really want to fight elara, and I just might.........in the finals.............if we both make it.

lol....im also leaving because A. My retirement fight started back up. B. If you paid attention you would have know that i was only in the tourny to bide my time while my friend moved.
and
C. Id be glad to copy paste the fight into a new thread to continue the match unoffically. ....But when i kill your character, I want in the stipulation you can never use her again. =-P

Then we will see if you could have "taken me out". As I am curious as how you would have handled what i wrote in the last post.... your reaction..and what I had planned after that.

Thank you for the vote of confidance Beo. I personally don't know how my match with Shuyin will go, since I've never fought him before; but I hope that it will be a good fight, and I am just thankful that I managed to get this far. If I do win, I look forward to fighting either you or Benja. I will not make predictions on these fights, because it seems that people that do often seem to end up being wrong.

Of course, since I've been predicted to lose already, it stands to reason that Desroth has just ensured my victory, lol.

Hmn... D&D vs FF didn't mix well... I wonder how it will fair against what Shuyin uses?

Leave if your going to leave, Elyk. We have enough lamers who post.

"Omfg!11oneoneone, I l0st because of something st00pid! BYEZYZ!"

Thats exactly what I imaged when I read "Goodbye, I'm not returning." Since you lost, you lost because of your own actions, not because of "Politics". Posting "goodbye" posts are just stupid ways to find attention. You already prooved that by not leaving, and comming back to post a pathetic reply in attempts to float your ego more.

This board isn't run by Democrates, Republicans, and individuals, its run by common sense, how a fight is fought, and what happens during that fight. Don't go blaming something that has absolutely no effect on a fight.

With that said, I want no more bitching about losing a fight. Grow up and be mature about it people.

Elyk..the judging was based on what was seen...so it would seem.

We fight like we're playing chess..always thinking four moves ahead, using the possible outcomes to steer the flow of the battle. You saw Elara's battles..character..style..and were able to use these things. We both know you WOULD have won that fight (no offense Elara. You're pretty damned good in your own right. But unless "playing around", Elyk fights in a..different way.
Most people here seem to enjoy the act of fighting rather than the plotting of it. Again, no offense. Simply two different styles (and i may be wrong in many of your cases).

With that said..you might as well stick around. At least to finish that fight (if Elara accepts, that is).

Just based on the audacity of his stipulation I refuse, since I worked to develop her. Also, to be perfectly honest, while I respect Elyk's fighting style, I cannot stand his attitude of "I am better than you". People like that piss me off and I usually refuse to have anything to do with them.

Besides, I can barely handle one match at a time. Taking Calculus and Chemistry in the same semester was a stupid idea... a very stupid idea.

I'm going to fill you all in on a little secret on how ~I~ judge a fight.

I do not judge based on skill alone. You can be more skilled then Sparda, and you can still lose the fight if everything else sucks.

Let me explain:

Your attitude, what you do, how you explain, and how well you thought out the fight takes great improtance in the fight. Elyk, you may have skill, but you lost because of your attitude, and how you fought.

If you don't see the diffrence between respecting your Opponent, and your Character respecting your opponent, then you seriously need to stop sim fighting and re-think the very concept of the fight.

Elyk, the whole time, you dis respected Elara by thinking of her as the weaker of the fight. And don't sit there and tell me it was just your character thinking that. Anyone who read that fight can see you truely thought you were the better fighter, and it yells that in your discriptions.

Sure, you may had the skills to win, but you don't have what it takes to be the best. You have a lot to learn if you think otherwise.

My character was trying to piss her off.... It was his head game with hers. It is how my character is... He is old...experianced and been in many battles.

So basically what you told me was that In Role playing my character i should have not really role played as him? If i did that then i wouldnt be true to the character.

Here is how it is. Jade is a woman. Elyk has never...and will never like a female in the battle feild. To him she has to "Prove" to him that she deserves to be there. It is how he is. His wife that was killed had many natureal healing powers..but he refused to let her go anyway near a battle feild even though she could have been usefull.

Simply put, it is how my character is.

Now as for my OOC comments, clearly it gets annoying when people dont pick up on things, or completly ignore mechanics.

Kaijin, Thank you for proving my point on how it was really judged. It is a horrible way to judge a tourny. Winners should always be based on..

Skill+Pace+Role playing(That is...how true you stay to your character in his actions, what he says, etc.)

Whoever has the best of those elements wins. And nothing else should matter. It is how every tournament ive seen(obviously except this one) has been run.

You stating that you judged on it because of the respect agaisnt an opponet IN CHARACTER, something that has nothing to do with the basic elements of fighting... Just proves the "politics" point.

Oh...and yeah well when Your character also Absorbs almost half of their opponets Offensive spells/attacks..... Ya kinda just sit back and see what they try to pull out.

Not at all. Your just prooving my point further of why you really lost, Elyk. The way you fought wasn't In Character, it was you in general.

Your character can hate the opponent to the full exent and believe that he is the stronger, but you, the one controlling the person, can have respect for your opponent by how you put your discriptions.

Your character dosn't control his discriptions, but he does control his mouth.

Pace has vertually nothing to do with a fight. Its only for thoes who have the ego, and feel they need to enlarge it by saying they're controling the fight.

Skill and Role Play are only half of what is truely there. Obviously, you have no understanding of what real sim battling is.

Edit: I'd also like to point out these are MY views. I don't know how the other judges view fights, and I know Sparda dosn't share the exact same views as I have. If your having a problem with how it was determind, talk to him too, for he agrees with me that Jade won that fight.

Wow, I lost eh? I thought I was doing fairly well.. What were the basis of your decision on my fight if you don't mind me asking? Did my actions seem a little to fake? Or maybe it was the double-spell casting that seemed a little cheap.

Here are the reasons why I [not necessarily the same as Kaijin's] chose Shuyin as the winner.

I felt that you were too reliant on the whole robotic 'status check' system where you were constantly checking your current status and enviroment status and occasionally the opponent's staus. While this was certainly very fresh and unique, it seemed to me that you relied on it too much in each of your simbattle posts. I mean, anybody can show off their statuses and such but to be able to do that as well as give a detailed description of one's actions is a totally different issue. I felt that while you were certain different in using statuses, you simply didn't give enough on everything else. For example, your attack descriptions were very vague and hardly explained its role in the battle as a whole. In fact, most of your descriptions were pretty vague. When compared to Shuyin's posts, I felt that he proved to be a more aggressive and effective fighter in that round. In short, I simply felt that some of your descriptions were a bit lacking.

I didn't absorb anything actually, I just found the huge loophole in all of your attacks except for that one attack with the holy energy at the beginning that I could not get out of without godmodding . As for that last move with the negative and holy energy, like I have said before, I go by D&D rules, where opposites cancle each other out in spell form. If I was an evil creature, yes, holy hurts me more. If you were a holy creature, then negative hurts you more. However, when it comes to counterspelling, opposites cancle each other out, just as using the same spell does. You want to challenge me on that, I have the Player's Handbook to back me up.

It is just a bad idea to have fighters using radically different systems fighting. Someone really should get around to making a actual system for sim battles so we don't have this problem anymore.

And Elyk, I respected you as a fighter, though my character did not. And dispite her dislike of you, it came across what was in character and what was not. You're just arrogant.

However, if you want to start on getting out of all attacks. Please explain to me how one can be hurtled backwards by gale force winds towards a bunch of jagged pillars of ice that can freeze flames on contact, and not take any damage. Everyone that I have shown that whole scene to agrees that you should have lost your sword in the ice, wreched your arm from your socket, or frozen your foot to the ice. Yet you took no damage at all.

Of course, again, I do not know Sparda's opinion on the matter. Though I would like to, to be honest. I know that at least Levi respects Sparda and his views. I can't speak for you on that matter Elyk.
