| Simply put, do you work? And if yes then, what do you do?
I thought this might be an interesting topic, I'm kind of curious to see what other people here with jobs do: As for myself, I am a Curtosey Tech at Jiffy Lube, which is an Oil Changing place for cars in the US. We also deal with AC's, Radiators, Tire Rotations, mostly all of the fluids, lights, and so on. I've been working there for almost 2 months now. What I do as a Curt Tech:
Really, my jobs not that bad, even though I made it sound "quite" annoying, it's just that the 8-10 hour shifts get old. I also hate having to work in the weather, here in KS, humidity is a major issue, so it gets pretty hot, and we do have to wear special uniforms that aren't really "fitting". I can say my pay is quite good though, and makes me feel better about the job. Here in the US minimum wage is pretty low, $5.75 I believe? I make a few more $'s than that, so it's all good pay wise. I hate my Customer Service Adviser (CSA). He, is constantly yelling at myself and others, telling us what to do, and calling us things like "Tiger", "Skooter", and so on. And he's just annoying to look out. My Assistant Manager, is pretty annoying too. Thinking he's hilariously funny, and knows everything, he always keeps me way after closing, and makes me clean the basement (the section where employee's get into to work under the cars), which is something I shouldn't be doing. My other Assistant Manager, whom I usually close with on the weekdays, is cool though. He's also said "Once you can show me you can do curts quickly, I'll teach you how to work on the hood", which is working with the Oil Changing, and easier things (seriously, Curtosey Tech's get it like the worst). I've also gotten hints that I could be getting a 50 cent raise soon, so that's also refreshing to here. My job is decent. For a first job, I'm not complaining at all, and I have decided I probably will stick with it even after I turn 18 (being 18 opens more opportunities, but by then I may be doing other things than Curtosies). But, it's not always easy. It's muggy, there's annoying people I have to listen too, and things get repetitive and it is hard work (I serioulsy think I've bulked up a bit since I've started working there). So please, next time you get an Oil Change, show the people some love and respect.

| I work at a lumber company in Cape May.
I pick up lumber, I sweep the yard, I help forklift drivers, and I clean random things. I also do any oddjobs arund. Oerall its a relatively pointless job, and I feel no attachment to it. I'm working somewhere else when I return to normalcy. But I'm never working there again! |

| Well... I don't have a job yet but I have to do this program where I am suppose to spend one week (5 days) on one "job". Since I got two "jobs", I have to work on August 1-5 and August 8-12. I also get someone to help me as I do my "job". Here is it:
August 1-5: For Your Entertainment (FYE) Time: I think at 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. - Stocking and pricing. - Disable those security barcode when someone made their purchase. (Which I might not do very well at.) - Greet customers. - I don't remember much. August 8-12: Dick's Sporting Goods. Time: I think at 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. - Stocking and pricing - Greet customers. - Don't remember much either. And I don't know if I get paid or not, but I believe it still count as a job or something. I wish it was "Fire Me, Please." t.v. show where I could get a chance to win money by 3:00 pm. |

| This may sound sad but I work at my Grandma's business and work in filling out orders by sending the needed parts to the guy that put the camera's together...My Grandma's company makes sewer camera's... and when they dont need me there... Like Xeios I do any odd jobs that are around. | |||

| Minimum wage in the US is $6.75/hour actually, which compared to some other countries is pretty damn good.
I'm going to be working as a cashier at my college bookstore starting in a few weeks. The job is fairly simple: ring up items, fill out book request forms, blah blah blah... what you usually deal with at a bookstore. It pays minimum wage, but it's better than nothing. Of course, come October I will be working the best job in the world again: Shipwreck Monster. I get paid $8/hour to do the following: *Dress up in a costume *Scare people *Have fun |

| Classic fast food. Yep..subway.
$6.40 an hour, often 12-14 hour shifts, yadda yadda yadda. It's a decent enough job, really..free soft drinks, half-price subs, can get the grunts and new guys to do most of the work..but closing alone is a real bitch. |

I work.  I do all of the oddjobs at Canterbury's. If you all ever come to Warm Springs, GA, which is somehow highly unlikely, stop by that shop on a Friday or Saturday. I work from opening to close in recieving and stock. It's quite fun actually I never had so much fun opening boxes before. Plus the people working there make it so that there's never a dull moment. |

| I work at a small bookstore called Cultura Latina. We specialize in books about or by Latinos. What do I do? Put it simply, I run the store and do anything that doesn't involve a signiature.
- Cashier -Answer phone -call in book orders to publishers -receive books order from publishers -inventory and stock -clean store -put together special order from customers -put together orders from school (this includes not only putting the titles together, but receiving their paperwork and cutting an invoice and all the other paperwork that goes with it) -Customer service -Pack books for shipping That's all I can think of, though there are other little jobs that I do as well. I do it all. I get paid 8/hr so they pay is decent. It's not bad, even thought I'm technically the only emplyee there (everyone else is owner of the store, family owned buisness). |

| I work as a care giver at Living Opportunities
I take care of developmentally disabled people. Working graveyard, I make $9 an hour. Everyone else there starts out at $8.50 an hour, but I make an extra 50 cents because of my shift. Minimum wage in Oregon is $7.25 or something. So I do pretty good, though gas is killing us... |

| I'm not old enough to 'legally' be working. But I do have two jobs.
I do odd jobs for one of my teachers. That includes -Cleaning her house -Mowing the lawn -Grading her summerschool papers -Anything that pops into her brain It's an okay gig. She pays me 5 bucks an hour which is shit pay, but i get free lunch and unlimited use of her phone. I don't do this often but it's there when I need it. My friend owns a flowershop. -Arrange flowers -Take orders -Sweep -And anything else Dave (the manager) tells me to do. I get paid 10 bucks an hour for that one. But like I said I can't work there often. |

| I have three titles, all meaning the same thing:
Quality Assurance Technician Jr. Systems Test Engineer Videogame Tester I work for Activision Publishing, testing videogames months before they're finally released so that they are relatively bug free. Sound like a dream job? It kind of is. Except that I test the same videogame every single day and write reports on bugs every day for several months at a time. But, my name appears in the credits for the game. As the game nears its time for submission, our hours increase, so I'm voluntarily working 12 hours (all paid) per day, six days out of the week. I'm paid at a rate of $9/hour, plus an additional rate of $13/hour for the overtime, and time-and-a-half on Sundays. For all employees working over 8 hours, the company pays for food for lunch. So, I never buy lunch while working overtime. And, on weekends, we all get free lunch. After 30 days, we're allowed to purchase from the company store at a reduced rate. About $5 per console game, $7 per computer game. After 90 days, we start to receive free games from the company. It has benefits, but they're expensive, so I don't have any health thingies. We have fun. I can't write down the details of my job, since I work in a secured environment requiring key-card access to practically all the doors in the building, including the parking lot. And, I get an email account with Activision, available in my profile if ever you want to get in touch for whatever reason. Basically, I make between $360 and $600 per week (before taxes) mostly for playing the same videogame. So, I make between $1200 to $2400 a month playing the same videogame (before taxes). Breaks down to between $14,400 to $28,800 in an annual salary (before taxes). In addition to this, I still run my computer repair and building company--Almodovar Enterprises--in my hometown.
