| Tanya looks to the floor as Crystle yells at her. She was ashamed of the fact that she didn't have the money to pay her back, especially when she needed it so badly. So she gulped down all of her humiliation and walked over to where Crystle was sitting.
"Look...I'm sorry I don't have the money right now...and I'm sorry about what I said this morning. You're not a bitch...I just thought that you were because I thought you knew aobut mom. But, I promise to get the money back before the weeks out! I swear! I'll work as hard as I can and as many hours as it takes...just please don't be mad at me!!" She closed her eyes tight, expecting a sort of retribution from Crystle. The fact of the matter was, Tanya's mom had been in the hospital since last Monday and she was having to pay the medical bills until her mom's insurance kicked in. Crystle was one of her best friends, and she'd figured that she'd told her...but she remembered an hour later that she hadn't. |
