I don't know to be fair:

ZSNES - No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No No

Snes9x definitely offers best features for people, it's a bit like DeSmuME or FCEUX since it is the one with the most pointless and useless features a general bloke won't use. It's probably the best for general usage. However it doesn't run all games.

bsnes is a beast, it emulates 100% accurately but to run at 60fps you need a 3GhZ processor on x64. It also has a wealth of features. Only drawback is it doesn't play standard .smc as far as I am aware, only .sfc which only gets used on ROMs from emuparadise.me.

SnEeSE is dead, only emulates the core SNES units, but does so pretty well. The DOS version is good for those that use low-power, and also there's a Windows version with an simplistic yet annoying GUI. Also you can't go fullscreen.

Once I learn some progamming (C, C++ and x86 assembly, I think) I might start work on a emulator based off SnEeSE. Probably called SEmucom (pun on Super Famicom). Luckily the source is on github.

I was a big fan of ZSNES for about 10 years probably, but I went back to Snes9x a few years ago and quickly realized how much it had drastically improved over time and there was no longer any need for ZSNES ever again, lol.

I've tried bsnes, but didn't like it too much.

Never heard of SnEeSE.

Sneese isn't updated anymore (hasn't for about 9 years, that's why I want to fork it some day, to improve it.

I'm having trouble with that snes9x thing, I have directx9 redistributable on XP, but the file is missing and no sound exists. I think there's a few zip versions of it, some contain the files and some don't.

I also used ZSNES for years and was forced to start using Snes9x because of games just plain not working. If those games worked for ZSNES, I would go back in a heartbeat, though that just might be nostalgia talking.

ZSNES has very choppy sound and buggers up the best game in the world, Super Mario World 2.

ZSNES does have a very nice interface, unlike modern applications that look just like every other bloody SNES emulator, I have to agree. Even a half-witted idiot would say zsnes looks nice.

I wish somebody would hack bsnes or snes9x, make it look like ZSNES.

bsnes, or more accurately now Higan. Accuracy counts.

I keep ZSNES and SNES9x on-hand entirely for romhacks that don't work right on an accurate emulator.

Does bsnes/higan play .smc files? Because I am not sure.

I hope byuu returns some time, his homepage has been inactive for 20 days now. Imagine if he released an N64 emulator, you'd need a supercomputer to handle it but it would work awesome.

It does not, but it includes a converter that'll change smc to the right format.

On a similar note, I have to say that KEGA Fusion is extremely impressive for Sega stuff. It covers just about everything from the Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, and even 32x I think?

Saturn emulation gets insanely complicated though, from what I understand mostly due to the console having three separate processors.

Nice. So .sfc is the true snes format? Hm.

Edit the poll, so that it says bsnes/higan, instead of just bsnes, please.

Yeah that's not a thing that can happen, board software doesn't support editing polls AFAIK.

I thought you could do that if you had MySQL access and went into phpMyAdmin.

Theoretically you could, but direct database editing has an unfortunate tendency to fuck things up in Acmlmboards on account of weird-ass coding. Not worth it for such a small thing.

Oh yeah. I forgot that.

Besides most people know it as bsnes anyway so there isn't much need for it.

I used to be able to do it on DuW forums (back in the days of old!), but I lost the code that supported it. =/

Anyway, I use SNES 9x for PC and SNES9x EX for my Android phone. I used to use Snes8x on my Windows Phone.

Snes9x is the best for a balance of compatibility and speed, however I have to run 1.51 as my netbook doesn't support 1.53 for some weird reason.

ZSNES. Only for its design, and I never had much experience on the SNES, so I can't say about the accuracy.

ZMZ, because it has ZSNES's likable UI and snes9x's emulation accuracy.
