| I can't believes out of all of you guys, you never bother mentioning Mother 3! How could you, when Lucas appeared in Super Smash Bros Brawl? He's right up to Ness.
Anyway... Mother 3. A sequel to Mother 2 in a time into the future... Let me say that for time between those two games, Mother 3 isn't THAT bad. Well, the graphic could use some work... 
Wait, that is a screenshot when it was in beta. What the frak did I do wrong!? Anyway, the graphic haven't change in a significance way from Mother 2 (Earthbound). In fact, comparison in quality have improved a bit, so that you do get see a bit more. Since Mother 3 will not likely be released in US, I, however, played it and enjoyed it. With Mother 3 Translation Patch already out, I can finally enjoy the game in english. Now time for some screenshots! 
Welcome to the World of Mother 3. It is nice day when you just relax and not worry about anything approaching you in a intended harmful way. Life is peaceful, people knew each other until one day, an UFO and the reports of Pigmasks have invaded a small village nearby. Meet Lucas' father, the Legendary Chuck Norris... Er... Flint. 
The Pigmasks had set fire to nearby forests and it is up to Flint to prevent the forest fire (Oh, so he is Smokey the Bear now?) and save Fuel (don't ask, it is that kid name you have to save) so that Lighter (oh, come on now!) would not be worried about losing his son (after all, he DID get his ass handed to him by thinking he could take on those Firefly... Get it? Forest fire, fire fly?) .    
The story will explains from there. You get 4 chapters that are based on character's view, and I think there are 8 chapters total. Basically, first chapter is Flint's view, second chapter Duster's view (then kind of shifted to Kumatora in the end), 3rd chapter is Salsa's (in Japanese, it is a joke since saru is monkey.) and the remaining chapters belong to Lucas'. Honestly, this game got humors to it.   
Well, jeez, how the hell am I suppose NOT trample it over? Since I already beat the game, my favorite moments are actually two things...  
Of course, don't mess with that table. It is beyond the abilities to have few thing stop it. And the other thing was eating a mushroom that caused hallucination so you are seeing weird stuff doing on. (Yeah, a talking umbrella... and getting item out of garbage can. Hell, you can take a nice bath in a... *Shrugs* land waste spa.) And of course, this weird pig cyborg thing (NKCyborg) : 
Oh, one more thing. Since I know that several game usually consists of music, I'm kind of impressed with this game. Just imagine with nearly 250 musics (some are similar but have different timing due to the new combat system, Music Battle). and 8 chapters (with one of them doesn't involved words! :O If any, it is more like a intermission or something.) to see why this game is so good! My highest combo is 15 hits (one hit short of missing a prefect 16) but I was kind of impressed with it since it is hard to timed it with emulator. 
Honestly, I did not reqret playing this since this have more classical yet modern tone to go with. (And another plus is that this game is just a GBA cart... if it only was released in America.) |
