Dad had to be rushed to the emergency room two days ago, he was diagnosed with something like HOPO, like fluid in the lungs, and Lung cancer. He has to breathe Oxygen from a tank for the rest of his life, and he really needs to quit smoking. In which he has.

I however, am seriously trying. Its day two for me, and I am trying to fight the feeling of just one more cigarette.

One thing that I would like to do is start playing Pump it up again. Either that, or just do an imaginary version and just run constantly. I have learned that fatigue helps curve nicotine withdrawls.

I am also trying to do things differently. Like getting into a different habit while doing things. IE: Holding breath while playing games, Breathing really low while on computer, walking through the back door when going outside, just something different in which I do not have the habit of doing one thing, and immediately smoking the next.

I remember I quit once while I was at Washington with Fennicy, but I was stupid and picked up the habit once again at the airport. Worst mistake of my life.

So know any methods of quitting smoking? Know anything that can help curve the cravings? Any advice?

Im seriously ready. Day two, Cant wait till I forget what day im on.

YOU CAN DO IT!

I know you can, do without those gross cigarettes, they're bad for you, terrible actually.

I know you can do it, you have a crazy amount of willpower, you just need to break away from that want.

I have faith in you man!

I heard that a decent way to help is to take a cigarette "prop" and keep it in your hands as if you were smoking, bringing it up to your mouth and everything. It seems silly, but it's worked for everybody I know that's done it.

Why is everyone so resistant to trying things like the patch or gum, and so insistent on trying gimmicks like this? Sure they'll help psychologically, but why not also do something that'll help chemically?

I havnt checked on this stuff in a while but here it goes. A lot of people dont try them because of the cost. Most of the time a pack of gum or a pack lf patches cost more than a pack of smokes. I for one dont want to spend more money to quit smoking. One of the main reasons I want to quit is to spend less.

Ive also spoken to a few friends that have tried the gum and patches. They dont work very well. So I dont find them worth it. If you have a friend that wants to quit also, it's always good to use the buddy system.

Well, I'd recommend using them in junction with the other techniques. Like they say, you gotta spend money to make money. It's not like you have to use the gum or patch forever.

It is 99.99% mental additcion, and .01 physical addiction.

The mental part comes in during your daily habits, like for me:

- Being on the internet while smoking
- Playing videogames while smoking
- Riding in a car while smoking.
- Drinking while smoking.

Oh yeah, and this does not help one but im having relationship problems I dont feel like posting. Shit offically hit the fan today, but I will overcome it.

Day 4

Medicine Melancholy
My life may be lonely sometimes, even with my beloved family.

Face it, you can never quit smoking if you're keep doing it. That's why I never smoke cigarettes, even if anyone smokes around me.

Day 4

Yea, ive been told that it takes 3 days for nicotine to flush fully out of your system. Everything after that is just mental addiction.

I know what you mean by habits though. My roommates smoke so it makes it hard sometimes. Plus like you mentioned while driving and drinking it's hard not to just light one up and have a few drags

But keep up the good work. Kick the habit and you'll be saving a shit ton of money haha

Lose one addiction, gain another... Weird how that works, no?
