Shaitin woke that morning and glanced over the silk sheet of his bed. His eyes were only slits as he studied her breathing, she'd leave again soon and he wouldn't be allowed to see her till the next winter. With a sigh he pulled his arm over and pulled a few rogue locks of hair from her face. He didn't want to loose that image, that portrait of awe beauty. He slowly moistened his dry lips as she sleep soundly wondering if she was this content else where...he then dismissed the thoughts that came with the idea of the other places she lives and closed his eyes. This wasn't something his eyes needed to be open for, her sent first like a mist that moves in and leaves with out warning burned his nose, her sent so powerfully capturing and at the same time so innocently releasing. After he couldn't stand several thoughts, loosing her to the coming season, loosing the sight of how content she is in this very moment, and loosing the feeling of her warmth that he, perhaps to easily, came to desire both in the night when he laid down and in the morning when he woke.

Normally when someone stepped up behind Shaitin they had two things they intended to do, kill him or knock him out so later he can be put to his death. The satin finger tips that slipped over his brown tanned skinned shoulders were neither. He smiled as he looked down from the third story balcony, the children of the staff played with his children, who were watched over by a kindred of sorts. Two large wolves watched as their pups played with the children of their masters, the puppies teaching the teaching the children how to pounce grasshoppers. He heard a murmur in his ear that was as silky as the bedding he just escaped but he didn't hear the words as his hearth throbbed in his ears he turned allowing himself to be captured by her arms pinning him to the railing. He knew the words before they had edge to them, edge or meaning, they still cut into his being. She was telling him she had to leave soon and in that she was cutting herself as well. He saw that much in her eyes.

At dusk of that evening he sat in his study, looking over the petitions of the land he owned a vast amount of land that produced a great many things. Mostly it produced happiness. He smiled as he read of an intended wedding that he'd been invited to, he signed his name and put it into the out-bound basket. He looked across the room a long moment studying the trunks she stored there, her traveling trunks, another sign that she truly was leaving and that she to had her duties to her Realm. He reached over and picked up the half glass of dark liquid, he slowly sipped the tea with brandy and closed his eyes allowing his memories to heat his lungs. With a soft sigh that was almost a whimper, he opened his eyes. The eyes had more pleading in them then the whimper, he didn't want to loose her again. The pleads fell onto an empty room.

When he woke that next morning after the festivities of the Winter Solstice he didn't reach a hand out nor did he open his eyes. His mind this time reached over, the small and very gentle tendrils sweep over not only the now empty and cold space next to him but his study. She was gone, left in the night like the bitter cold of a blizzard. He once asked her why she did it that way, why she left in such a manner. He was told that he was a foolish male that would never understand a child of Gaia. She like her sisters traveled with the seasons of the world, each with a job and hers was done. Winter was now going to fall like a blanket on his Realm. He smiled contently knowing the return of the dew on the cherry trees would signal her return. He rose out of his bed and went to bathe then start his day, and wait till her return.

Life was as it always is, growth and an unstoppable forward flow. It was half way through the second month of the winter season and the ground was covered in snow, the fountains iced over on the estate, but that didn't stop the children from playing. Having cleared the main gathering and entertaining area of the gardens the children played, studied, and observed. Their parents were watching always on guard. He was looking out the large ornate brass, silver and wood glass windows and double door at the rose colored sky when the air was cut like a knife, a scream like none he'd heard in his adult life. He knew something horrid was happening because he once heard that type of scream as a child.

The Master of Guard was on patrol when he heard the scream, he knew what it was, only one thing would attempt something of this nature in the risk of winters cold embrace. He took to his faster form and sprint with speed, jumping to a hedge and then to a branch of a partially frozen tree before the hedge remembered what it was and dropped him. He was now inside the estate via a window, dodging servants, children with their teachers as he made his way to the other side of the land. It always amazed him when these mammoth creatures came out of their slumber, it further terrorized him when they did because this was their most dangerous time, for they were crazed and needed their food to live.

Moments after the sound he heard the sound of howls and barks of words. The guard of his home worked quickly and with efficiency, he wondered then was it wrong to make sure they had that ability directly to due with having their offspring live with them here. He shrugged it off and lifted to his feet, with a focus of his mind and inner spirit he summoned his weapon and the armor along with it. His body slowly started to become covered with a bone like substance. Seeming to creep from another world it started at his feet, with folds in the proper spots it was an exoskeleton system that allowed him complete movement in anything he tried.

With a step forward his blade hung from his back, a massive full circle ax, he was a Lord, some called him a Warlord, others called him a Blood Lord. He was just a man who protected what he cherished, took what he knew was his, and killed all else that opposed him. The lovely ax was a Pride ax, it had a short handle with a spike at both ends, the twin blades that curved to make circle that if held to his chest covered from his hips to his chin. It could be used either as a shield or as means to cut a man from stem to stern, the handle though wasn't at one end but was at both, the hollowed center was betraying in look, with a twist it became two different blades that curved down the fore-arms to the joint of the elbow. Used properly each twist of the body put force into each hit causing a great deal of pain to the intended receiver of that Killing Edge.

On the balcony he looked down at the serpent that came very rarely out of slumber. It stood as tall as his estate and just as long. The magnificent wings were almost that of frozen water, you could see through them partly along with rainbows of colors. He was always in awe of the Dragon Kin. At this time he felt shame and sadness because he knew the Wolf guard he choose as his meal would be dead soon so would, perhaps even hopefully not, another of his guards. He saw the Master of Guard and mused a smile, it'd be interesting to watch his skill. So at that he waited, watching to see how this fight would turn out.

The Master of Guard dropped to his feet, his two feet and looked at the surroundings. “Good” he muttered as he saw the children and other innocent were removed from the battle field. He pulled his long sword and advanced as 4 other of his men quickly took up flank to his left and right. They'd be done if the Dragon took to the air or used it's breath weapon. He smirked a moment later when he saw the two bites on the Dragon. Then he knew why he couldn't fly, his guard who laid motionless had bitten and ripped a large tare in one of the wings. He knew the healers were watching, waiting so he would make this quick for either side of the battle.

Ire had a lust, even the most passive and noble of his kind had the lust and when it came every eon or so it had to be sated. He needed to kill and let out something that lurked inside of all creatures of this world. He'd be wounded but that didn't mater he had size and breath he could still use, he knew though this fight would be for the death, but the lust quickly over rode these thoughts and so he roared now, he could see his reflection in the windows shake. He took a breath in and that was to a mistake just like the one to come to where there was so much activity, so much of it would mean that their was protection for the lesser creatures, the mortals and partial immortals. With that being the last of a few thoughts he let out the breath weapon of icy winds.

Shaitin growled low, he knew with the intake of air that the Dragon was going to fight to the death. He pulled his Pride Ax and spun it so it stood shield like over his chest, a low blue aura flowed from the blade's edge and like that of a ribbon the energy he focused through the blade shot and surrounded his men protecting them from what as about to come. Once the long deep breath of the Dragon was done he dropped the shield and lifted his hands turning them against rotating the handles of in the hollow center of the Pride Ax and then with a boost of his spiritual energy he shot the blade like a large disk of Red hot light at the dragon. It lodged into half cutting the neck open. With a grin and the smell of fresh blood in the air he entered his own Lust.

With a roar of pain Ire quickly looked to the source of the new pain, he saw Shaitin and his core knew it'd end soon. That or he'd be able to consume a new very powerful source of energy. He lost sight of the guards that slowly surrounded him and moved towards Shaitin. He growled low shaking the snow out of the near by trees as he found his path blocked. With a swipe and snap of his massive jaws, his path was no longer blocked.

Master of Guard winced seeing two of his men fall quick and with out pain. He saw the distraction of what his Lord did. He was more awe struck to see that Ax, he knew this wouldn't be long and signaled for his men to get out of the way. This was something their Lord had to finish. Moving quickly with his other men and the healers, they got to the men who were dead or dieing. With a sigh he saw he would be mourning for four creatures, his three men and the Dragon.

With a leap that was impossible for anyone with out the Nobel he carried he was on a tree branch that stood almost a story larger then his estates main building and then leaped to the wall of the north-east tower. His exoskeleton clawed hands glided into the stone like a hot knife in butter, he climbed and quickly because if that Dragon was smart he would climb rather then use his neck. With a little hope though the Dragon would be to far in its lust and pain to climb and would out reach its neck. Once he was to the last window ledge of the tower he turned, perched like an eagle he waited for the right moment.

Driven by hunger at first and now by pain and a lust, the dragon out reached his neck for the creature who stood high above him. But then lost sight of him in the sheer yellow white light of the sun, then he felt a thump on his head Ire knew he was about to die. The moment before death was the only that could really bring a Dragon of his age out of his haze, but it was to late. He knew this as he felt the claws of something not human cut into and use his own flesh to climb down his neck. That's when he remembered the pain in his neck and with a slight move he saw the ax in his neck. With a cry he felt the ax lurch out of his neck.

It was done in seconds as the Pride Ax was yanked then split into blades. Like the use of scissors he swung, cutting hard and deep. The sheer weight of the blades cut, he called on the demonic lineage adding a demonic heat to his hands that flowed into the blade and exited from the edges. In those few seconds he painted the side of the tower with the thick red liquid. He jumped and rolled not wanting the good wing to fall on him and wondered about the cry he heard, was it fear or surrender?

Sapheria cried, she was a partial immortal and just watched one of her Kin die. She quickly hurried to Shaitin to check him over, once she saw he was unhurt she kneel next to the bodiless head and gasped at the eye that was bigger then her chest that blankly stair back at her. She gasped because this was a mentor of her grandfather. The hot tears ran her cheeks as she put a hand to the side of the Elder's head quietly prayed to the Goddess of the Dragons for its safe travel to the next world.

Shaitin looked the small woman who was kneeling and sighed softly as the exoskeleton escaped back to the void it came from. He then made his Pride Ax one again and it to vanished to where it lived. Walking slowly now he slowly took to a knee next to Sapheria and put a hand to her shoulder, he cringed when she yanked away. With a sigh he moved away to let her give her peace and went to help with Master of Guard.
