|EA = Egocentric Arseholes
|That got me thinking, I kind of wish Microsoft could have bought Bioware back in the day. Since MS helped publish the first Mass Effect actually, it took years to pop up on the PS3. I haven't bothered to get an Xbox One yet and maybe never will, but I think MS would have given Bioware a lot of free reign and backing.
I'm just pissed EA closed Visceral of Dead Space fame and cancelled their Star Wars game... only to buy Respawn to start a new Star Wars game. WTF?
|Ghost of Tsushima looks absolutely gorgeous! I am super intrigued by Cyberpunk 2077 as well... I will definitely have to keep an eye on that one.
I don't want this to be the end of Bioware... I will seriously cry. But I seriously doubt that Anthem flopping will kill them, studios have had bad games before and come back. I am more hopeful that EA lets another company buy them out if they don't want to keep them.
|I agree on Fallout 76... it looks gorgeous but I don't want to play online and the nuke thing seems pretty weird.
My favorite reveals were Resident Evil 2 Remake and Devil May Cry 5!
Sekiro Shadows Die Twice should be amazing.
Cyberpunk 2077 sounds incredible.
Doom Eternal, Prey DLC, Dying Light 2, Control, Last of Us 2, Ghosts of Tsushima, Nioh 2, Mega Man 11, Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, I'm going to need a second savings for 2019.
Biggest disappointment was no Metroid Prime 4 or Bayonetta 3! Also across all the podcasts and news I'm keeping up with, barely anyone is talking about Anthem. I fear it might be the end of Bioware if it flops... it looks like a Destiny knockoff to me and I have no interest in it. EA's been horrendous this gen and it's a shame Bioware is trapped under them.
|I'm intrigued by Fallout 76, but I really just want to play that shit alone, not as a multi-player. Christ, if it's an MMO, I'm screwed. There's no way I could put in the amount of time kids online would have. They'd be hunting my ass down and looting my vault-dweller's corpse. T_T
|So, it is June in Los Angeles, and that means that it is E3 time.|
What do you all make of the news out of E3 so far? What are you excited about?
There are a lot of games that look really good, though I admit I probably won't get many of them myself. I was actually tempted by Fallout 76 until they said it was going to be online. Anthem looks really good, but I am still bitter about what EA and Bioware did to Andromeda for the sake of Anthem... and, also, online with rumors of single player.
I would say the biggest thing to get my attention is the announcement that they are finally making the next Elder Scrolls game. I figured that news of it had to be coming soon with that joke about Skyrim on Alexa at the start of the segment.
Smash Bros on the Switch looks a bit insane with all those characters, but I definitely think it will lead to a fun experience. I am also tempted by Pokemon Lets Go Eevee. Like, I might reinstall Pokemon Go long enough to port over my stuff if I get it.
I was disappointed that there was no news on either the FF7 remake, Dragon Age 4, or Horizon Zero Dawn 2... guess I will have to wait until 2019.
