You left out the Messier and the NHL Foundation Awards (Crosby and Miller, respectively).

I must say that I am glad that Tippett got the Adams, he deserved it after the miracle he pulled off last season.

The Blackhawks trade Dustin Byfuglien, Brent Sopel, Ben Eager, and a prospect to Atlanta for a 1st and 2nd round draft pick. The downfall of the champs has started.
Edit: NHL awards were handed out. The big winners were Ryan Miller (Vezina), Henrik Sedin (Hart), Duncan Keith (Norris), Dave Tippett (Adams), Alexander Ovechkin (Lindsay), Tyler Myers (Calder), and Pavel Datsyuk (Selke). Also, Jonathan Toews was announced as the cover athlete for NHL 11.

Yeah, the loss to the Habs shocked the hell out of me, and then it's like they just layed down and let the Flyers trample them. Seriously? You take out the defending champs and then just give up in the next series? What the fuck is that?

**is still sulking over the Flyers' loss.**

You know, to be perfectly honest, I was utterly shocked at the Montreal/Pens outcome. This season, to tell you the truth, I was sooo outta the loop, but from what I saw/read, the Pens had an AWESOME year. I wanted to see them and the Flyers in round three, to tell you the truth. I'm not even 100% the Flyers would have been able to take them out. It would have been good though, Flyers stepped it up BIG time in all the rounds since the last few seasons.

Everyone played pretty well except for the series against Montreal. Another problem was Alexei Ponikarovsky and Jordan Leopold. They were traded for at the deadline, but never did anything during the playoffs.

Yeah, I have no idea where Fleury went this year. Crosby, Malkin and Orpik were good as usual in the few games that I got to see (damn lack of cable).

I'm going to be rooting for the Pens next year again, but I'm not sure they can do it. I'm waiting to see what they do in Free Agency because they have a couple of people they need to re-sign and they really need some better forwards and a shutdown defensive defenseman. Also Fleury needs to be more consistent next year and get back to how he was in '09.

Hey, nothing wrong with my Penguins winning again. Nice way to finish the first full season in the new home. Seriously though, what I would love to see is the Sharks win for once. They finish first in the West damn near every year but they never make it to the cup because they choke. They deserve to win for once dammit!

Exactly. Many MANY lame calls.

And, you know, since I was little, I thought it was only natural that the Flyers would play them because of them winning the cup back then. It wasn't until recently that I found through several non-Philly sources that it wasn't exactly the case. I'll have to see if I can dig up some of the things, and see if my gramps will let me get some of the documentaries off of his hard drive, because we've got a bunch of interesting things on the NHL (The Broad Street Bullies thing being only a segment once in a while) and I think you'd find them interesting, especially you, Seijika.

I think that's it though. I'm biased toward 1970's hockey. Because, to tell you the truth, hockey is a FANTASTIC sport. I love it. I wouldn't have played it myself for 11 years if I didn't like it. It's just that when it comes to watching other people play...well, I really can't sit and watch a sport on TV for any long period of time. Especially hockey. I just get antsy and wanna get up and play myself, rather than just watch it. I'm just weird like that. There's hockey, and then there's watching hockey.

When it comes to hockey, I don't care who you are, I love the sport. For example...Crosby...It's blasphemy in my city to be a fan of that guy...so, I have my fun and blast him just like the rest. What does he care? He's still in the NHL making more money than my life is even worth. But...as far as the sport is concerned, if we're going to just get down and talk about that...he's one helluva player and I wish I was just as good as he was.

I could go on and on and on (like I usually do) about hockey as a sport. The essence of it, I suppose (I am creeping myself out with my obsession here, so I won't be surprised if any of you are.) is completely different than getting in on the media slander and what everyone around you thinks. I was just SOOOO excited to see the Flyers make it so far. I'm soooo sick of hearing about our baseball team. I'm not much of a baseball fan. I was born into a hockey family.

Uhhh of course they wanted Philly to play them? They won the Stanley Cup. And you make it seem like hockey today isn't real hockey. Just because people aren't allowed to go overboard anymore doesn't make it otherwise (despite many many lame calls these days). There are still plenty of big hits to go around. Until they start playing with giant candy pucks and have to do a dance before taking a shot and cannot hit at ALL, it will always be the same great game~

I look forward to next season. I don't care who wins the cup next year (well I do, I want it to be Montreal. But if they don't...) as long as it's not Pittsburgh. You never know which teams are gonna be winners!

As long as he doesn't play for the Flyers it doesn't matter what team he plays for. We're still the Broad Street Bullies, despite the mellowing hockey has forced the Flyers to do, and if you're not playing with us, whether we lose the game or not, you're going to bed sore that night. And NOT in the good way. XD

Seriously...when the Flyguys were actually winning cups, three years in a row, the NHL HATED them. With good reason **cough** But still....but all of a sudden, when the Russians came over, who did they want to play them? That's right. Broad Street Bullies. That's who. And what happened? The Russians skated off the ice after a few moments, were threatened to get back in or don't get paid.

THAT was hockey.

All teams should play like THAT again.

My personal dislike of Hossa is because when I got into hockey in 2008 he was a Penguin. Then they lost to Detroit in the finals... so he became a Red Wing. Then they lost to the Pens so now he went to Chicago. Just jumping from team to team every season because all he wants is a cup, and if they don't get it that season he's gone. I just dislike that.

Yeah yeah, congrats to Chigaco.

There. The nice comment toward them. Won't happen again.

I'm seriously SOOO stoked for next season though. I think a joke a frend of mine said jinxed it for the FlyGuys. He says "We should just put a Leighton jersey on a brick wall, and I bet people would be lining up for autographs, because they wouldn't be able to tell the difference." XD XD XD And I LOLed quite heartily, so I probably helped the jinx. Because yeah...bullshit goal...And you could see where Leighton thought he was on top of it. But then when I saw the replay, it was like "Wtf...How did you MISS that?! You bastard!"

Yeah, I'm pissed Hossa finally got what he wanted. But, on the brightside, the Flyers are going to be better next year and the salary cap is going to hit the Hawks hard in the offseason so this was a one and done deal for them this year.

Where was Leighton looking when that shot went in?

But yeah, congrats to Chicago. They played a really good game. I am just pissed that Hossa got what he wanted. At least he didn't get the winning goal.

Now you know how I felt in 2008, guys.
